Our beautiful daughter, Isabelle Holli Parr passed away December 1, 2022, at the age of 21. She was hit by a car while jogging in Provo that evening. Izzy was born December 21, 2000, to a warm welcoming family. She is survived by her father Matthew and mother Jennifer, her brothers Alex and Tate and sisters Portia and Mattie, grandparents James and Susan Tadje and Sheldon and Barbara Parr, and many other caring and loving cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and neighbors.
Izzy had an incredible sense of style destined to become a fashion icon for her younger sisters. She loved thrifting and patterns and anything vintage. She recently worked at a boot and gun store where she acquired a few pairs of boots that only added to her style. We loved hugging her. She wrapped her arms around you and hugged you so tight and if you breathe in just a bit you can smell just the slightest hint of a vanilla cookie. And who wouldn’t love that?
She wanted to teach and work with children and youth. She attended Olympus High School and was currently studying at Utah Valley University where she thrived serving in the Mentorship Program. Izzy found joy in many things. She particularly found time for her scriptures, Harry Potter, glitter, watercolors, shoes, vanilla and people. She had perfect pitch and even though she didn’t like performing in public, whenever she sang we would stop and listen. What a joy our “Izzy Rooners” has been!
Isabelle and service go hand in hand. She recently served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at the Mormon Trail Winter Quarters visitor’s center in Nebraska and Wichita, Kansas. She cherished the people and all those who crossed her path there. I think my favorite quote she would say was “You just have to love people into place.” She was love.
Izzy brought so much joy. She is light! She adores her Savior, Jesus Christ, and at the time of her passing she was firmly rooted in Him. Her current calling in her singles ward was Gospel Doctrine instructor. She made time to enter the temple. At this moment she is resplendent in the eyes of her Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and her family.

Funeral services Friday, December 9th at 11:00 am at the LDS Olympus 3rd ward on 4100 S Camille St, with a visitation prior to services from 9:30-10:30 am.

I served with Isabelle in Kansas during my last transfer. She is such a bright and happy person who did so much good. She left a definite mark in my life and even though I am unable to be in Utah for the service please know that I will watch and that my heart goes out to you.

Izzy worked with us here at Precoa for only a short amount of time but in that time she had an impact on us all. The sweetest and most caring girl! We were lucky to have her even just for a few months.

Izzy was a giant dose of sunny. We worked together at Anthropologie and I adored her sweet smile. She was cheery, humble, kind and beautiful. She will never be forgotten.

Sister Parr was a fantastic missionary! I would hear of her wonderful spirit and testimony all through my time as a missionary in Kansas. Although we met for only brief periods she lit up my life. This is Pam Harrison from Gunnies in Orem. I was Izzy’s employer here at Gunnies. When she interviewed with us she had such a bright and happy countenance. We all loved her. She said she wanted to be the best at the register and help customers complete their purchases. She was so good at helping customers and really engaging with them. She looked so cute wearing the Dakota hat and boots she bought from Gunnies. I was really sad when she decided to go to another job but I understood. She stopped in and visited here with her coworkers several times after she left.
We are so sad about her passing. Our hearts go out to you and your family. May the Lord bless and watch over you all. And give you comfort that Izzy is with our Savior, Jesus Christ. We all love Izzy.

I didn't know your daughter well, didn't even know her first name, just Sister Parr. When they were doing virtual tours of the visitors center, I volunteered to be a guinea pig for practice. My husband and I had been to the center in about 2007 or 2008, and toured it in person, so I thought I might be able to help the sisters. Your daughter was sweet and devoted to Christ and her mission. She had a warmth and humor that charmed and appealed to me. I'm so sorry for your loss. I know it leaves a huge hole in your daily lives here. May the Lord bring you peace and comfort.

I had the chance to become Izzy's roommate during the summer of 2022. How lucky I was that chance connected us. She was so friendly as we met and got to know each other. A few moments stand out to me about Izzy. Whether there was work drama, school concerns, or dating worries, she always tried to give people a second chance and focus on how she could improve. Second, she was so friendly and would often join my fiance and me for crepes when we made them in the evenings. Lastly, she helped me try on my wedding dress as I was getting ready for wedding pictures, and her support helped me feel so special. I will truly miss her, and the world will be impacted by not having such a great person here. Thank you for sharing the memorial services with us so we could remember Izzy.
