Marilyn Jane Quinn (Delahoussaye), a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and sister, passed away on May 5, 2019 surrounded by her loved ones. Marilyn was born October 2, 1938 in Elmhurst, Queens, NY to the late Frank Banta Quinn and Florence (Misner) Quinn. After her father passed away when she was 12 years old, Marilyn enjoyed helping her mother raise her baby brother Robert (Bob). Marilyn graduated from Newtown High School in 1956 and later that year married Andrew Erdman. Soon after, she and Andy settled in Trumball, CT where she attend the Bridgeport Hospital School of Surgical Specialty.
With their three children in tow, Marilyn and Andy relocated to Walnut Creek, CA followed shortly after by the birth of twin girls in 1973. Marilyn and Andy divorced a few years later, but remained friends throughout their lives. Marilyn spent many years in Redding, CA while married to Harold (Hal) Delahoussaye and then in Sandy, UT, where she helped to raise her two grandsons.
First and foremost, Marilyn was a dedicated mother. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grandma and stated that her five grandchildren were "the loves of my life."
Marilyn is survived by her loving children, Robert (Neydi) Erdman of Yucatan, Mexico; Lara (Randy) Oakley of Sandy, UT; and Kari (Doug) Clark of Fort Collins, CO. Also by her cherished grandchildren James King of Queens, NY, Nicholas and Aidan Crowley of Utah, and Jack and Amelia Clark of Colorado. As well as her loving brother Bob (Janet) Quinn of Sackets Harbor, NY and niece Danielle Quinn (Adam Berry) of NH, and nephew Jesse (Martha) Swan-Quinn of Syracuse, NY.
She is joining in heaven her parents Frank and Florence, sister Patricia, son Kenneth John Erdman and daughter Andrea (Randi) King.
Her family would like to give a special thank you to those at Rocky Mountain Hospice, especially Dee, Teresa and Sheila, who were such good friends to Marilyn in the last year of her life.
Marilyn's family will celebrate her life on November 28, 2019. Thanksgiving will truly be a day of thanks for the years Marilyn gave to everyone who knew her.
