Roberta Lee Richards

1949 ~ 2019

Roberta Lee Richards,, passed away October 1, 2019, from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

She was born March 24, 1949, in Hurricane, Utah, the youngest child of Willard Clark Richards, Sr. and Bertha Mary Nazer Richards. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Roberta Leeann (Sissy) Mayer, her parents, her sisters, Sharon Nazer and Kaelynn Tuckett, nephews, Kevin, Dale, and Patrick McMullin, nieces Michelle Tuckett and Laura Lynn Kuykendall, brother-in-law, Bryant McMullin, and many adored pets.

She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, aunt, and friend. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She often said, "God and I are like this," and would cross her fingers.

She leaves behind a son, Edward James (Eddie) Woolley, siblings, Mary Lu McMullin and Willard Clark (Bud) Richards, Jr. (Marilyn), her niece, Kim Tuckett, many more nieces and nephews, and her darling miniature Schnauzer, Kallie Lee, affectionately called "Silver Bullet" or "Silver Lightening".

She worked for SelectHealth for 12 years as an intake coordinator and an administrative assistant, and helped Kim get her job with that company. It gave Bobbie great satisfaction when she could help others.

She was an intelligent, funny, gifted woman. She loved to read, sew, crochet, and watched M*A*S*H, Star Trek, and John Wayne movies constantly. When she was able, Bobbie loved to do genealogical indexing for the Church, and indexed 58,080 names in less than a year.

She instilled in Kim a love of country music, and leaves behind precious memories of time spent together with Bobbie, Kim, Mary Lu, and Kim's mother, Kaelynn, before she passed away in 2008.

Bobbie endured many hardships with courage, strength, dignity, and tenacity. She was the epitome of talent and skill. Her niece, Kim, would often say, "When she was younger, she could rebuild an engine if she had to."

One of Kim's best childhood memories of Bobbie was being with her cousins, Sissy and Eddie, watching ChiPs on TV, and eating fish sticks. Sissy and Kim would sing to the record of Grease until Bobbie threatened to break it if she heard the songs one more time. The girls would then go into Sissy's room, turn the record down, and whisper-sing the songs as they played.

Bobbie's family would like to thank Bishop Enos Beebe, Audrey and Samuel Beebe, Bishop Tony Ferrara, Cheryl Ferrara, Bishop Alan Combs, Debra and Austin Combs, Steve, Ryan, and Jaron Longazo, Rob and Emmy Sheets, Aaron and Jen Hess, Angie Ratliff, Michael Anderson, President David Castleton, Patriarch Dean Kennington, President Jacob Helland, and Janet Helland as well as those in the Meadowlark and Foxboro 2nd Wards for their constant assistance, friendship, love, support, and prayers.

The family would also like to thank the paramedics of South Davis Metro Fire Station 85, specifically Tyson, Garth, Chris, and Trevor. They saw Kim and Bobbie at their worst, in their most dark, desperate hours on more than one occasion, and offered nothing but help, kindness, consideration, and humor. Those who work in that profession are truly angels among us. Thanks as well to Dr. Roy Gandolfi and his Medical Assistant, Paula Ashton. Lastly, thanks to those at South Davis Home Health and Hospice, especially Cheryl, Cameo, Melissa, Barbara, Julie, Spencer, Laura, Iris, Cindi, Gail, Alisha, Pross, Jordi, Tyler Bridgewater N.P., and Dr. Mark Johnson. A special thanks to Chaplain Steve Olson for his constant words of comfort and thoughtfulness. Bishop Olson, you helped more than you can know.

Kim would especially like to thank Bobbie's and her family and friends for their constant love, support, and assistance throughout this difficult time. Bobbie and Kim are so grateful for our family and friends who are numerous, and it provides solace knowing that families (and friends) are forever.

Any omission of those that helped Bobbie and Kim during this difficult phase of their lives is unintentional. You know who you are, and you have our heart-felt thanks.

At the request of the deceased, no funeral services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the children's or animal charity of your choice in Bobbie's name. She loved children and animals, and was happiest when she could help them.
