Carol Leone Jager

1925 ~ 2013

Our beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, Carol Leone Deardorff Jager, passed peacefully on November 22, 2013 surrounded by her loving family.

Carol was born July 18, 1925 to Harry J. and Elsie Leone Deardorff in Salt Lake City. The oldest of 4 children, Carol grew up in the Kensington Avenue area of Salt Lake City. She enjoyed spending time with her grandmother (Memaw), who was very near and dear to her.

Carol met her beloved husband, Arthur, when she was 15 years old during a church dance at Edgehill Ward. Thus a long, fulfilling and devoted love affair of over 69 years began. She was a simple, loving and deeply cherished woman who made the world a more beautiful place. She was a true inspiration on how to love unconditionally. Carol was passionate about family and friends. As the true matriarch of her family, she loved sharing family news, cooking and caring for us all. Her contagious energy brightened our lives. Carol was an exemplary role model who taught us how to love and nurture ourselves, and in turn, our own families. She enjoyed golf, bridge, crossword puzzles, Bear Lake, and having a good laugh. Carol played the organ beautifully and was fond of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Carol was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong spiritual sense.

Carol is survived by her husband, Arthur, four children: Steven (Mona), Scott (Rebecca), Susan (John) and Dirk (Jennifer); her 8 grandchildren: Zachary, Stephanie, Angela, Matthew, Todd, Ben, Samantha and Allie; and 7 great grandchildren; her brother Paul and sisters-in-law Cora and Clara, as well as many special nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Jack and sister Betty. She will be dearly missed, but her legacy will live on in the smiles and loving memories of her family. Special thanks to Connie and Janice.
