Our loving father, grandfather and brother passed away on March 2, 2014 in his Salt Lake home. He was born Nov. 28, 1926 in Payson, Utah to Henry Edwin and Ethel Collett Griggs. He served in the US Army in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. He married Betty Gwen Solomon on Dec. 1, 1947 in Salt Lake City.
LaMar is survived by his daughters; Susan (Rick) Affleck, Peggy (Gary) Porter and Pam (Bob) McPherson. Also by 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Ted (Marilyn), Morrell (Loretta), Deal (La Mat) and sister LaDene Smardan. Preceded in death by his wife and a son, Kent LaMar and 2 brothers, Harley and Russell.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Mar. 6, 2014 at 11AM in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Chapel, 10600 S. 1950 East, with viewings Wed. 6-8PM and one hour prior to the service on Thursday with interment to follow the service.
