Joseph Earl Harrison

1946 ~ 2016

Joseph Earl Harrison was born March 19, 1946. He passed away peacefully in his home the morning of May 31, 2016. He was an amazing man who adored his wife and loved his children and grandchildren with all his heart. Joe, as he was known to others, played the tenor saxophone in his youth and had a great love for music that continued through his entire life.

Joe served in the Andes (Peru) mission for the LDS church. He also served his country in the Vietnam War, was an accountant by trade and loved to make people laugh. He was also a huge BYU fan. He loved serving the Lord and had the privilege of serving in the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. He had a deep passion for family history. He had many jobs throughout his life but always made time for his family. Family was most important to him. His wife was his life.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents Adelma Margaret Hatch Harrison and Alexander William Cox Harrison, and survived by his wife Barbara Sue Anderson Harrison, and his children Heidi Shunk (Gary), Christopher (Genie), Heather, Michael (Elena), Jonathan, Jeffrey (Kathy), also by his 17 grandchildren and 3 sisters Janice Angell, Jean Holesapple, and Julia Meyers (Ken). He will be missed, but will be looking after his family from heaven.

The funeral will be held Saturday June 4th at the Jordan Oaks 5th Ward located at 9353 South Vista West Drive (3780 W) at 11:00 AM. Viewing will be held Friday evening from 6-8PM and Saturday 10-11 AM at the same location. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery. www.larkinmortuary.com
