Don Lee Holt

1935 ~ 2013

Don Lee Holt, son of William and Irma Holt, was born February 6, 1935, in Salt Lake City Utah. He passed away August 31, 2013, at the age of 78, after suffering a heart attack. His earthly body was worn out by diabetes and dementia, yet he was always pleasant and greeted his family and friends with a smile. He was known for his dry humor, quick wit and storytelling. Don had a firm knowledge of the gospel principles and the plan of salvation, and was an active member of the LDS church.

Don married Karen Passey 58 years ago in the Salt Lake Temple. They enjoyed raising their children, each unique and special. A highlight of his life was being a grandpa. He loved reading stories to his grandchildren and tickling their toes. Don worked with his father in the gas and oil business and for 19 years as an accountant for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He is survived by his wife, Karen, and 8 children, Nanette Glauser, Jeffrey Holt (Jenna), Randall Holt (Linnea), Ramon Holt (Jeanne), Stephanie Neff (Brian), Bryan Holt (Cathy), Suzanne Ruplinger (Jared), and Marie LeBaron (Jordan); 27 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Bill, Eric, George, Marlise, Mark, Todd, Lynn, Karma, Tim and Yvonne. Preceded in death by his parents, 2 siblings, Kalma and Dwight, and son-in-law, Rick Glauser.
