Mitchell Kay Johnson

1994 ~ 2019

Mitchell Kay Johnson was reunited with his brother Spencer Randall Johnson on September 7th, 2019. Mitchell was born on December 15th, 1994 to Randall Kay Johnson and Susan Lunt Johnson. Mitchell joined his siblings Meagan Johnson (Clark) and Spencer Johnson. His sister Candice Johnson soon followed 15 short months later. All four were close in age and became close friends.

Mitchell's childhood was idyllic; full of close neighborhood friends, competitive basketball, PS2-4 gaming, rollerblading, biking, catching minnows in the canal on Willow Springs, Airsoft wars, hiking, camping, and Scouting. Mitchell achieved his Eagle Scout award in 2010.

In 2011 he served as a special needs counselor in the special needs mutual program for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. A position that he loved.

He was an excellent student and graduated from Alta High School in 2013.

Mitchell served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Philippines in 2013. He received his Associates degree at Salt Lake Community College and was pursuing a career in Information Technology.

Mitchell married Muriel Ames in June 2017, and later divorced in February 2019.

Mitchell had a penchant for health and fitness—especially when combined with his love of the outdoors. He loved to hike, backpack, workout, and run. He ran his first Ragnar race in June and planned to run a Spartan race in July. After a 7 mile downhill run during the Ragnar, a 1.4cm piece of bone broke from his kneecap and needed to be repaired. He was unable to run the Spartan race with his team of coworkers from Jeunesse, however, that didn't stop him from planning his next race in Moab this November.

Mitchell was a perfectionist and strived for excellence in all his endeavors. He was a thought-leader and researched every purchase and decision he made. He was a careful consumer and subscribed to the theory of "I'll comply if you can prove why".

Mitchell was a person of integrity and lived by the adage, "Do what you say, and say what you will do." He was always willing to help others especially his friends and family. He had the ability to turn heads when he walked into a room and was a natural leader. He was loved, not only by his family but by all that knew him. He will be missed.

Mitchell is survived by his parents, Randall and Susan Johnson (Lunt). Siblings; Meagan Johnson Clark (Spouse Andrew), Candice Johnson, Grandparents Kay L. and Joyce Johnson, and niece Alice Clark
