Vitoria Rapa Fonoti Satele Mulipola

1926 ~ 2015

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and dear friend, Vitoria Mulipola, passed away in Salt Lake City, Utah on Sunday November 8, 2015. The daughter of Sofeni Fonoti Satele and Maugasa Tafua, Vitoria was born on August 29, 1926 in Solaua Samoa.

Vitoria was raised and educated in Samoa. While living there she graduated from Motootua nursing school in December of 1947 and became a registered nurse. On October 11, 1951 she was married to the late Aipolofeu Mulipola, whom preceded her in death on June 11, 1991. Together they raised their family of 14 children which consisted of 8 boys and 6 girls. While raising a family, Vitoria continued her nursing career and in 1969 had the opportunity to further her knowledge in the nursing field at the East West Center on the University of Hawaii campus. During that time she was fortunate and blessed received her temple endowment at the Laie Hawaii Temple. Vitoria and Aipolofeu were later sealed in the Hamilton New Zealand Temple in December of 1974. Throughout her career she was able to serve and help numerous people until she retired at the age of 63 in 1989. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and fulfilling her various callings in the church. During her life Vitoria had the opportunity to touch the lives of and influence many people. She lived a life full of love and charity.

Vitoria is survived by 12 of her children. Her sons Tafatolu, Tuugasala, Manitete, Fereti, Sofeni, Kava and her daughters Oli, Aufata, Ivy, Gasetoto, Daisy, and Oketi and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings and two sons, Pelesi and Sani.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at the Rosepark 15th Ward Chapel, 1155 North 1200 West, Salt Lake City, Utah. The family services will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will be followed by a viewing that will be held from 11:00 ‚ 11:45 a.m. prior to the Bishop's service starting at 12:00 noon. Interment will be held at the Bountiful City Cemetery located at 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful, Utah.
