William G. Pinnock

1926 ~ 2016

William Grant "Bill" Pinnock, age 90, passed away on April 4, 2016 in South Jordan, Utah.

He was born March 2, 1926 to Grant and Millie Glenn Pinnock in the farm home of his grandparents located southeast of Rigby Idaho. He grew up on a farm two miles from where he was born. He attended school in Rigby, Idaho, graduating from Rigby High School in 1944.

Bill spent the next two years in the U.S. Army serving in Okinawa and Korea. He was wounded in action and was awarded the Purple Heart and the Combat Infantry Badge. After spending over four months in the hospital he went to Korea as part of the Army of Occupation for a year.

He graduated from Brigham Young University, earning a BA degree in Education. He taught school for three and a half years at Rigby High School. While there, he married Anna Marie Heyrend on June 17, 1953 in the Idaho Falls Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He worked for the Social Security Administration for over 30 years, retiring in 1984 as a Manager of the Salt Lake City Quality Assurance Office for Social Security. Bill loved gardening, loved to read, had a great sense of humor and loved his family dearly. He will be greatly missed by all.

Bill is preceded in death by his wife Ann, his sister Donna Thornton, his brother and sister-in-law Lyle and Sal Pinnock, and brother-in-law Jim Amonette. He is survived by his daughter Linn Marie Bradshaw (Scott), sister Elaine Ammonette, brother Frank (Fay) Pinnock, and brother-in-law Stan Thornton and six grandchildren who brought so much joy to his life ‚ Jessica Marie Fogg (Isaac), Christopher Scott Bradshaw (Joanna), Carlye Ann Morgan (Tim), David William Bradshaw (Rachel), Katherine Marah Bradshaw and Daniel Mark Bradshaw and nine great-grandchildren, Hazel, Erick, Evan, Delilah Fogg, Lucy Bradshaw, Tyler, Jaxen, Madelinn and Boston Morgan, and two new great-granddaughters due in a few months. The family would like to thank A Caring Hand Home Health Care, Superior Home Health Care, the Parkway 7th Ward and many neighbors for their service during Bill and Ann's final years.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 7 between 6 and 8 PM at Larkin Mortuary Riverton, 3688 West 12600 South in Riverton, Utah. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 8 starting at 11 AM, with a viewing starting one hour prior to the funeral service, at the LDS church located at 10206 South 3200 West South Jordan, Utah. Burial will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
