Deen L. Eskridge

1932 ~ 2018

Deen Lee Eskridge was born in Green River, Wyoming on September 3, 1932, but in many ways his life began when he married Marilyn Seeley on November 4, 1953. After serving two years in the Army, they moved to Salt Lake City. Deen joined the SLC Police Department as a patrolman on August 13, 1956 and retired as deputy chief on January 27, 1987. He also taught for many years at the Institute for Policy Technology and Management in Jacksonville, Florida, and he was respected by police officers across the country whom he mentored and taught. He was an active member of the Lutheran Church.

Deen was a wonderful husband and devoted family man who was admired and loved by his wife, children, grandchildren, and a horde of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

He is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Marilyn Seeley Eskridge, and their children; Bob (Sheila) Eskridge, Dave (Sarah) Eskridge, Robin Rose Eskridge, Laura (Glen) Sampson, and Nancy (David) Hales, 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Andy Eskridge.

A memorial service will be held at a future date.
