Jack Kendall Udy quietly passed away 11 March 2024 at the home where he was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. “Kendall” was born 27 October 1968 in Tremonton, Utah, the son of Jack Thomas and Gloria Udy.

He was quiet, attentive and observant as a child. He was well loved by his family, and loved to spend time with his younger brothers and sisters. Kendall loved being outdoors, and fishing at Strawberry Lake in Utah. He attended South High School in Salt Lake City and graduated in Tooele, Utah. Kendall earned the rank of Eagle Scout, and served on the National BSA Order of the Arrow Board, where he trained Boy Scouts in many skills. He enjoyed all sports, especially baseball, golfing and billiards.

A genuinely self-made man, Kendall was a carpet layer by trade, owned Kendall’s Carpet Company, and contracted projects for RC Willey. After a long day of carpet laying, his favorite pastime was playing billiards. In 1989, Kendall married Christiana Brown and later divorced. Together, they had their daughter, Sabrina Elizabeth Udy Anderson.

The light of his life was his daughter, Sabrina. Kendall was a devoted father and loved spending time with Sabrina and her family—husband, Kurtis, and children Kacey, Kash and Kassie. He cherished his three grandchildren, and would often take them for the day anywhere they wanted. Kendall’s love of fishing was often spent with his daughter and grandchildren. Kendall was a loving, kind and caring man who was always smiling and happy. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and he will be missed.

He resided with his life partner Marcie Bishop in Midvale, UT for many years. Together they were happy and enjoyed a quiet life.
Preceded in death by his grandparents, LaVoy and Maurine Udy, Frank Kendall and Gail Kendall. Survived by parents Jack and Gloria Udy; siblings John (Jennifer) Udy, SLC, UT; Jeff (Natasha) Udy, Brush Prairie, WA; Joel (Gina) Udy, Eliot, ME; Janet Udy Moyes, West Valley, UT; and Jennifer Udy, SLC, UT. Also an aunt, two uncles, and their families including nine cousins.

Viewing and visitation will be at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, SLC, Utah on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm, followed by sharing of memories. His cremains will be taken to his favorite fishing hole at Strawberry Lake, Utah and Riverside, Utah at a later date.

For those unable to attend, the sharing of memories will be streamed starting at 6:30 pm. Please click on the watch services link above.
