Obituary Photo for James Arthur Ford Jr.

James Arthur Ford Jr., 67, of Salt Lake City, passed away on October 21, 2024. Born on May 25, 1957, in Leavenworth, Kansas, he was the son of James Arthur Ford and Cordelia R. Ford. James was married to Maria A. (Vasquez) Ford in Salt Lake City, Utah, on February 17, 1988. His life touched many, and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Our world lost the greatest man we've ever known. He was our pillar of strength, our comfort, our protector, and our greatest source of unconditional love. He gave his family everything, until the very end. His family near and far was his greatest treasure. He was a hard working, honest man, and an Army Veteran who loved his country. He loved being outdoors, fishing, hunting, and cruisin' around. He had a passion for cars, music, and the culinary arts. May he rest easy in paradise with the love of his life, and his two other babies he has missed so much. We love you Pop! We are so proud of you! Until we meet again, big man, please continue to watch over us.

James is survived by his mother, Cordelia Ford; Daughter, Kesia Catmull (Jason); Sons, Josue Manzur, James A Ford III (Vanessa), Hector D Ford (Alexis); 7 grandbabies; Brothers, Alan Ford, Carlos Budd Ford (Annette), Keith Ford, Sisters Toni Ford-McClure (Willie), Vicki Ford, and many nieces and nephews.

James is preceded in death by his Father, James Arthur Ford Sr., brothers Mark J. Ford, and Michael E. Ford; Wife Maria Ford; and sons, Jeremy M Ford, and Daniel H Ford.

A viewing will be held at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, on Friday November 1st from 2-4pm.

The loss of my beloved BIG brother is BEYOND sobering. I’m still trying to grasp the thought and accept the reality that we’ll NEVER have our fun moments full of jokes and laughter again. This one hurts… BUT, I knowww he’s smiling down on us preparing all his jokes for when we meet again 🥹
