James Ross Fricke II (Jim Fricke) February 20, 1954 – December 2, 2024 Jim Fricke, a loving father, grandfather, husband and cowboy, passed away on December 2, 2024, in Salt Lake City, UT. Born on February 20, 1954, in Thermopolis, East Wyoming. He lived life hard and fast, wearing out his body but never his spirit. Jim is survived by his children, Rachelle, Paulina, James and daughter in law Rachel; his sister Jody; his two beloved grandchildren Maddi and Hudson; his loving wife Magda, and his faithful dog, MJ. He is preceded in death by his older sisters, Jenine and Judy, and his parents. A true cowboy through and through, Jim was a talented team roper, a devoted dog dad, and an avid outdoorsman who was most at home under the open sky. His love of cooking, hunting and reading lives on in his children. His legacy as a loving father will never be forgotten. Jim was also a dedicated entrepreneur. As the founder and operator of Resource Environmental Management Consultants (REMC), he worked tirelessly from 1997 until his retirement, when he proudly handed the reins to his son James. Jim will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his wild spirit and adventurous stories will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at a later date, with details to follow.
Guestbook/Condolences
We were so sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. I worked with him for a few years out at Richardson Flat. I admired his work ethic and enjoyed getting to know him and James. Thinking of you and your family at this difficult time. Jeff and Niki
So sad! Our condolences to you all!
So sorry to hear of Jim's passing. We worked together for a number of years on the Rico, Colorado mine-water biological treatment project advancing that technology and publishing together. But more than that, we both enjoyed our time together discussing our various hobbies and chores related to horses, dogs and ranching. My prayers go out to all of his family and especially with him!

My husband,Truman, swam with Jim at THS too and remembers Jim wearing his cowboy hat at swim meets.
