  • Jane Swope Page, 93, passed away on January 26, 2021 from Alzheimer’s disease. She was at home surrounded by her family at her passing. She was born September 4, 1927, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Thomas Michael and Margaret (Beattie) Swope.

Jane graduated from South High in Salt Lake City, in 1944 and then attended the University of Utah for a year. She worked as a secretary until she married Morris F. Page on June 30, 1949, in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married for 71 years. They lived in Sacramento, California for two years before returning to Salt Lake City where they eventually made their home in Holladay, Utah for the last 65 years. She and Morris had four children, Kathy, Marcy, Terry, and Steven. Her family was her life’s work and she did anything she could to see to their needs.

For many years she provided daily care for her parents, an aunt, and a dear friend. Jane never stopped wanting to help others even when Alzheimer’s began to steal her mind. She was always thinking of other people first and wanted to make them comfortable in her home.

She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings over the years. Her favorite callings were working in the Primary, especially with the boys of scouting age.

In her later years she was able to devote time to her love of painting. She shared her gift with her family and won awards in local shows.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Thomas Beattie Swope. She is survived by her husband, Morris and four children Kathy (Paul) Chisholm, Marcy (Gary) Holt, Terry Beckstead, and Steven (Sam) Page. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank Summit Hospice for their excellent and gentle care of their wife and mother.

We loved your mother! As a neighbor to Terry We could see her at Terry’s helping with Megan and Thomas and the yard . She was a caring mother and Grandma! I miss the good talks we would have sitting in the yard watching Terry and her Dad work when she go older.

I have so many wonderful memories over at Morris and Janes' house while hanging out with my good friend Steve growing up over the years. Jane always treating me like one of her kids and was so kind and patient with us rambunctious boys. We will truly miss her and wish our best to her family as they work through this difficult loss. We love you Page family!!

    Dear Friends,

Listening to all those that participated in the services yesterday brought many good and wonderful memories rushing back to me. My first recollections of her "Jane" and Morris " I cant think of Jane without thinking of Morris" started when I was a young child. I don't recall calling them by their first name, I always called them brother and sister Page. My family would go to their house and I would play with their children in there back yard, while my parents visited with Jane and Morris in their front room. My father considered Jane and Morris some his very best friends. Because of that association between them and my parents their family became some of my best friends. We spent many years meeting with them at their cabin. We went fishing and hunting together. They had a very interesting alarm clock at the cabin, it would wake us up early on the morning of the deer hunt. Those who have stayed at the cabin probably remember it and its very unique bell. Jane always made wonderful breakfasts, packed delicious lunches and yummy dinners. I do apricate all the kindnesses that both Jane and Morris gave to me and my Father. I consider Kathy, Teri, Marcie and Steve as my close friends. I send my condolences to all of the family and want you to know that my life is better for knowing Jane and Morris and their family. May our Heavenly Parents, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost be with your family and comfort all of you. I know that your Mother is in Heaven, and she will also be looking over all of you... Love Jimmy
