Obituary Photo for Janell Maxine Holdridge Stevenson

Janell Maxine Holdridge Stevenson, born December 8, 1952, passed away peacefully on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2024. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of selflessness, love, and kindness.

Janell was a devoted mother to her two daughters, Kristen (Fred) McCubbin and Erica (Bruse) Butler. She said she always wanted to be a mother and was happy to have her two girls.

Her love extended to her grandchildren, Alexander (Mya) Butler and Jeffrey Butler. Janell was survived by her life partner of almost 50 years, Raymond Adams, and her former husband, Paul Stevenson. She was also the loving big sister to Janet Holden, Cynthia Serna, and Gregory (Martha) Holdridge. Janell joins her parents, Perry Holdridge and Charlotte “Mickie” Holdridge in heaven.

Janell was a devout Christian who found great comfort in her faith. She worked and raised her family in Southern California; she moved to Utah later in life to be close to her grandchildren. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was also awarded the Grand Cross of Color for her leadership support of the young ladies of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls.

Throughout her life, Janell loved crafting and sewing; she was a talented seamstress, making countless gowns for her daughters’ masonic events. Collecting miniatures, angels, and souvenir spoons gave her great amusement.

Janell effortlessly formed lasting friendships, touching the lives of those around her with graciousness. Her home was always open to those in need. Janell will be remembered as a very honest and accepting person who was kind to all. Janell’s love will be deeply missed but forever carried in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know her.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later time.
