  • On February 14, 2021, Janet Angus Morrill Tennant beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, age 80, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones. Janet A. Long born on December 8, 1940 in Lewistown Montana to parents Hazel Jeanette and Charles Robert, married her high school sweetheart Kenneth Day Morrill on August 3, 1956. Ken and Janet were later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple May 30, 1964. He preceded her in death Oct 3, 1989. Janet later married John L. Tennant on the 10th of June 1999 in Sandy, Utah with whom she lived out her remaining years.

The love and focus of Janet’s life were her children and her grandchildren… and her pets. There was seldom a time you would see Janet without her dog by her side. She had an open heart and open door and was called mom and confidant by many. Janet enjoyed her work as a business office manager in retirement communities and found great fulfillment in helping the residents. Her favorite memories were those of family vacations in the motorhome and of boating as well as her trips abroad.

Janet is survived by her husband John and her children: Janice Morrill, Jody and David Hathaway, Jeff Morrill, James Morrill and Jennifer and Lothar Morrill-Samel. She also leaves her three stepchildren, her immensely adored grandchildren, and the great grandchildren who called her Grandma-Great and brought her endless joy. She is also survived by very special friends Shaun Mair and Michael Holmes. Janet was preceded in death by her grandchildren Meagan Lynn Morrill and James “Mason” Morrill.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 19th, 2021 beginning at 2pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road in Sandy. A viewing will be held prior to the graveside beginning at 12:00PM at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary.
