Janice Ada Lynn Freking

1930 ~ 2022

Salt Lake City, Utah. Janice Ada Lynn Freking passed away peacefully at St. Joseph Villa Rehab on July 27, 2022. She grew up in Echo Utah, graduated from North Summit High School; attended Stevens Henager College; and worked at Pacific Food Express. Most of her working career was with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Distribution Center.

She loved the people of New Zealand and was a devoted missionary in the New Zealand Auckland Mission. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Janice served in several capacities.

Janice met the love of her life, Ronald Freking, whom she married on June 6, 1980. She was close to her parents and siblings, nieces and nephews and extended family. She enjoyed being with them and celebrating with them and took interest in all of their lives. She took pride in her cooking and was a really good cook. She loved traveling, especially to Jackson, Wyoming, Yellowstone, along the west coast, Yuma, Arizona, San Francisco, California, and many other places she often visited.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Belden and Zelma Lynn; two sisters in law, Betty (Bob) Ryba and Joyce (Ferris) Lynn,. She is survived by her husband, Ron Freking; five siblings, Verla (Jack) Winters, Wallace (Connie) Lynn, Ferris (Jane) Lynn, Dee (Lois Ann) Lynn, Diana (Bert) Jenson; four in-laws, Sister Marilyn Freking, OSF, Sister Carole Freking, OSF, Bob (Betty) Ryba, Rose Ann (Tom) Harvat; and 43 nieces and nephews and their families.

Viewing: Friday, August 5, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Larkin Mortuary Downtown, 260 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah. Funeral services will be Aug. 6 at 12:00, preceded by a viewing at 11:00 at the Federal Heights Ward, 1300 Fairfax, Salt Lake City, Utah. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
