Beloved son, grandson, nephew and cousin, Janssen Michael Morse crossed through the veil on July 26th, 2022.

He was born in Salt Lake City on September 10th, 1997, to his loving parents, Jayne Moody Morse and Keith Morse. Janssen was their one and only child and was affectionately known as “the miracle child”. Janssen was a happy boy, with a perennial smile. At the age of 2 his family moved to the Los Angeles area in Southern California, where he grew up near the beaches and loving the water, even at an early age. At age 5 he was diagnosed with high-functioning Autism and despite his challenges, he went through Cub Scouts and later into the Boy Scouts where he eventually earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He loved Scouting and the camaraderie of the boys and leaders, one of which was his dad. He never missed a campout, or a hike and his dad loved accompanying him on these outings.

He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served faithfully in various Deacons, Teachers, and Priests Quorum Presidencies. Janssen had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. He was in the Oak Park (California) High School Concert Choir for 4 years. His senior year he tried out for their High School Musical, “Mary Poppins” and having never been in a musical, still landed the part of Mr. Banks. He performed amazingly, garnering rave reviews in the local paper. Janssen graduated from Oak Park High School in 2016, with a GPA of 3.87. He later enrolled in Moorpark College as a music major but had to drop out after being diagnosed with the sleep disorder of Narcolepsy.

In March of 2020 Janssen received his Mission call to serve as a Service Missionary in the California Ventura Service Mission. In April of 2020 he began serving in the middle of the Covid pandemic and served mostly in Foodbanks. In March of 2021 his family moved to Anna Texas, and he immediately started serving in the Texas Dallas East Service Mission, serving at The Samaritan Inn, the Dallas Temple grounds keeping and later as one of the first missionaries to serve in a program called Temple Square Campus where he worked remotely for various departments of the Church’s Headquarters in Salt Lake. On April 6th, 2022, he was honorably released as a Service Missionary. At age 18, Janssen started attending the Westlake Village Young Single Adult Ward and later in Texas, attended the Allen YSA Branch. Janssen loved the YSA and all the friends he made there; they were his anchor to the Gospel.

Janssen is survived by his parents, Jayne and Keith, his grandmother Marjorie Moody, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
