Obituary
Our loving son, brother, and uncle returned to be with his Father in Heaven on May 10, 2026, while living in Portland, Oregon. Jason was born July 31, 1975, in Salt Lake City to Dale Lee Berg and Della Mae Brackenbury Berg.
Jason spent his childhood and high school years growing up in Sandy, Utah. Jason loved his growing up years in Sandy where he had many friends. He loved spending time with his older brothers who tended to spoil him when he was little.
Jason always loved to read, sometimes five books at a time. He loved the arts and to go to museums. He loved to go to plays. He loved music and played the guitar in a band while in high school and college. He loved to write poetry. He loved to do pottery and he also loved to climb after overcoming his fear of heights. He threw the discus in the junior summer Olympics in St. George, Utah.
Jason loved scouts and earned his Eagle scout award making two wire bead toys that he donated to the nursery.
Jason was on the honor roll of Alta High School all the years. Jason took A. P. physics credit in high school to earn 12 quarter hours of college-level physics. He had two years of college credit when in his senior year of high school, he attended the University of Utah. While at the University he wrote articles in the Summer Chronicle. He graduated from the University with a degree of Bachelor of Arts, major in English and a minor in Music.
Jason served with honor on a mission to the Netherlands Amsterdam mission. Jason loved the people in the Netherlands.
Jason worked in the computer business and loved his work. His favorite company was Daimler.
Jason met Melanie Swallow and married the 20th of April 2006. Later this marriage ended in a divorce.
Jason is survived by his mother, Della Mae Berg, His five brothers, Dale “Lee” Berg, (Stacy), Danny Carl Berg, (Mindy), Steven Brent Berg, (Stacey), Larry Scott Berg, (Allyson), Barry Robin Berg, (Stephanie). Nineteen nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father Dale Lee Berg and his grandparents.
A Celebration of Life will be held at his parents house August 1, 2026 from 10:30 to 12:30 p.m.
