Jason Michael Becker’s love for life didn’t come to an end with his death. Jason passed away the morning of March 1, 2023 at the age of 45 after a valiant yearlong battle with ALS, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Jason was born February 2nd, 1978 in St. Cloud, Minnesota as the oldest son of Gary and Luann Becker. As a child, he learned the value of hard work on the farms of his grandparents and uncle — lessons which laid the foundation for his remarkable work as a carpenter. Jason graduated from St. Cloud Technical College with a degree in carpentry and spent the first 10 years of his career building meetinghouses for the LDS church. As a result of this work, and the people he met along the way, Jason converted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After traveling the country for years, Jason eventually transitioned to a position as facilities manager to stay close to his daughter, Lily. While working full-time in this position, he started his own contracting business on the side, fulfilling a lifelong dream.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Jason. He loved a fresh coat of paint, a job well done, and a good fart joke. On his days off, Jason loved to woodwork, rebuild cars, do landscaping, and explore local campgrounds with his family. Jason was blessed to find Emily, his equal partner and the perfect person with which to play, work, and share these simple pleasures. He considered his daughters to be his greatest accomplishment.

Jason was preceded in death by his father, Gary. He is survived by his wife, Emily; two daughters, Lily (Caden) and Sadie Rose; his mother, Luann; his siblings, Jamie (Julie) Becker and Kristin (Brad) Hadin; as well as 14 nephews and 5 nieces.

The family will be honoring Jason’s wishes by wearing blue to his services, and invite attendees to do the same. Funeral services for Jason will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at the Rose Canyon 2nd Ward, 14398 South 6400 West in Herriman, Utah. A viewing will take place on Monday evening, March 6, 2023 from 6-8PM at the Larkin Mortuary - Riverton, 3688 West 12600 South, Riverton Utah. Another viewing will take place prior to the funeral services at the church Tuesday morning, beginning at 10AM Interment to follow at the Herriman City Cemetery.

I was honored to know Jason late in the game, as his hospice nurse. From the moment I met him and his beautiful family, I knew that I was in a sacred space and blessed to be a part of their lives; Albeit a short time. It was unbelievably clear how much he loved his family and the legacy left behind was a beautiful example of life well lived.

I am writing this with a heavy heart.
To My Handyman, I will miss you dearly, your smile, sense of humor, ability to make me laugh when I shouldn't, our conversations, sometimes funny and sometimes serious but most of all knowing you where always a phone call away.
I'm sorry I couldn't come see you but I just could not bare to see you after you had talked to me about your condition. You are and always be one of the best young man I have ever had the pleasure to call a friend.
To Emily, take care of yourself and that little angel. You are blessed with some wonderful memories, hold them close to your heart and remember you are and always will be loved by a beautiful soul mate.
Until we all meet again, REST IN PARIDISE JASON.
