Glenda Ann Prows Kehl

1920 ~ 2015

Our beautiful covenant keeping disciple of our Savior, Mother and Grandmother, left this mortal existence to be with her, "Tall, dark and handsome," husband October 29, 2015. In her merciful and peaceful passing, Mother slipped quietly away at her home of 78 years while being watched over by her family. The family was assisted by wonderful care professionals Tamara, Rhonda, Ester as well as her Guardian Angel and constant companion, Muttley Kehl. Born September 25, 1920 to Charles W. Prows and Ann W. Budd, she was the third of five children in her family.

Mother's life was a wonderful example of the highest level of devotion to family, her Savior, and her Heavenly Father. She made a decision to be true and faithful to the gospel early in her life. That commitment to correct principles and righteousness was one of the main reasons Dad was so smitten by what he described to a friend when he first saw Mom as "One of the most beautiful girls he had ever seen." As a truly devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mom served faithfully in various callings while raising eight children of her own and at the same time taking in over 45 foster children who she loved as her own. Through sharing her home she has blessed the lives of countless generations. It was easy for her to share because she really believed that, "inasmuch as you have done it unto the least of these, you have done it unto to me."

Mom was an accomplished seamstress and despite being burdened with the crippling effects of rheumatoid arthritis, she persevered in her craft of making clothes, wedding dresses for her daughters, Halloween costumes and road show wardrobes. They were created and crafted with the highest of quality, care and creativity. She also wrote the road shows and arranged music for them. Christmas time was especially exciting at our home as year after year Mom baked and frosted thousands of Christmas shaped cookies to share as gifts with our neighbors. Every neighbor was greeted with the same spirit of Christmas without regard to religion, race or community involvement.

She was preceded in death by her husband and our Dad, Edward F. Kehl, Gloria Jean Kehl, and her three children Trent, Trisha and Tara, Sally B. Kehl (daughter in law), and by 3 of her siblings, Wilma Larsen, Bud Prows and Gene Prows. She is survived by her children, Eddie F. Kehl, DeNiece Kershaw (Garry ), Gary R. Kehl (Nancy), Lynette Blanch (Marsden), Kim Kehl, Mark Kehl (Stefani), Drue Kehl (Andrea), Marsha Ash (Cary) and 44 grandchildren, and 108 great children and also 11 great-great-grandchildren, and her Sister Zelta Nebeker.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 5th 2015 at the Cannon 7th Ward building, 934 West Fremont Ave. at 12:00.
