Jean Ovard Call passed away on August 21, 2023, in Riverton, Utah. She was welcomed into this world by her parents Frederick D. Heiges and Margaret Cahoon Heiges on June 16, 1933, at the old St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City.
Jean's father passed away when she was three and her younger brother was three months old. Several years later her mother married Charles L. Ovard who later adopted Jean and her brother William H. Ovard (deceased). To this union came her sister Susan Ovard Draayer.
The greatest joy in her life was her children: Mark Heiges Call (Shirley) and Kay (Jay, deceased) Christopherson. As Sole support of her family she worked for Utah Power & Light Company and retired in 1995 after 37 years. She was a member of Radiant Chapter #12 O.E.S., and Reviewers Book Club.
She received enormous pleasure from reading, sewing, knitting, crocheting and playing with her Bridge group. She was also a big animal lover. Her beloved dog Mickey preceded her in death.
Jean is survived by her children, sister and special sister-in-law Patsy Ovard.
At her request, no funeral will be held and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Humane Society of Utah or a favorite charity.
