Jeanne Hatt Berman passed away January 12, 2024 at Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg, Idaho.

Jeanne was born September 28, 1937 in Bluffdale, Utah, the second of seven children to John and Alice Hatt. Jeanne grew up in Bluffdale where she went to school and worked until she was eighteen years old.

After graduating from high school and attending some college at both BYU and Utah State she decided to have an adventure. She and a few friends took off for the warmth and excitement of Hollywood, California.

Jeanne was working as a secretary when she met Allen Berman who lived in her apartment complex. After a couple of years of dating they married and moved to Los Angeles where their first daughter Jill was born. When Jill was a couple of years old they moved on to Garden Grove and later welcomed their second daughter Lesley.

Eventually a few years after their divorce Jeanne moved back to Utah to bring up her girls around her family. In Utah she first took a job as a school lunch lady to make ends meet. Quickly she moved on to being a secretary once again and eventually became a program director in the Department of Public Safety.

Jeanne never stopped learning. If it wasn’t flower arranging, it was painting, skiing, gardening or home improvement. She was a great example to her family.

Jeanne loved her children and when grandchildren started coming into the picture she could find nothing more important than spending time with them. Jeanne has two daughters, three grandsons, one granddaughter, and three and a half great grandchildren.

Despite the grief of losing our mother, grandmother and great grandmother we are so happy that in her last days she was able to spend time with her daughters, all her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.

Jeanne is survived by her daughters Jill and Lesley (Ervin); her grandchildren David (Jessika), Sydney (Chase), Alexander, and Riley; her great grandchildren Mason, Logan, Beau, and baby “J”; her brothers David & Rocky and her sisters Margie & Linda.

She is preceded in death by her son in law K.T. Magnusson; her brother Allen and her sister Jackie

A graveside service will be held on January 25th at 2:00 PM at the Bluffdale City Cemetery, 14229 S Redwood Road, Bluffdale, Utah.

Graveside services will be streamed via Zoom for those wishing to attend virtually.
