  • Our precious, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, Jennifer “Jenny” Romig, peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father on May 3, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was 46 years old. For the past three years, Jenny bravely fought the rare and aggressive cancer that took her life with determination, hope, and unwavering faith.

Jenny was born on May 8, 1974, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Gary Ralph Romig and Joyce Hobbs Romig.

She joined her big brother Jeff, and later welcomed two younger brothers, Brad and Jared. She and her family moved to Glendale, Arizona, where she lived and worked for most of her life. For the past five years, she, and her devoted mother have made North Salt Lake their home and feel blessed to be part of an extraordinarily special community of loving neighbors.

Jenny devoted her life to serving others and was a valiant daughter of her Heavenly Father. She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Dominican Republic, where she taught and shared the joyful news of the gospel to many.

Jenny loved life and was an adventurous world traveler who treasured making memories alongside her best friend and favorite travel companion, her dear mother Joyce. They shared a bond of love, friendship, and devotion that is among the most rare and tender of blessings. Disneyland was her favorite place to visit, and she adored treating her nieces and nephews to trips and experiencing the “happiest place on earth” alongside them. Her favorite treat was a Disneyland corn dog, and she loved Diet Mountain Dew, all things purple, and was a diehard Arizona Cardinals fan. More than anything, though, Jenny’s greatest joy was her family. She was the most wonderful, nurturing, and generous aunt imaginable to her nephews Dalyn, Treton, Colin, Colton, and Ryker and her nieces Madison, Jadyn, Charlotte, and Savannah. Despite her favorite little people living in Chicago, she never missed a single important event and was there to celebrate their successes and accomplishments. Her generous, selfless nature and unconditional love will continue to inspire and serve as an enduring example for them throughout their lives.

She is survived by her mother, Joyce, and father, Gary (Eloise), her brothers Jeff (Laura), Brad (Carrie), and Jared, and her treasured dog Molly.

Truly, to know Jenny was to love her, and she will be missed by anyone blessed enough to have been a part of her life.

We would like to thank the John H. Huntsman Cancer Institute and the team of doctors and nurses who treated her, as well as the Eagle Ridge Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 6th at 12:30pm, at the Eagle Ridge Ward located at 351 S Lofty Lane, North Salt Lake, Utah 84054. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 11:00am to 12:15pm. Interment will take place at Larkin Sunset Gardens located at 1950 E 10600 S in Sandy, Utah 84052.

Jenny was an amazing friend to me, she was thoughtful and considerate, and always saw the positive side of things! I am so happy we met, worked together and became such good friends. She was so close to her mother Joyce and talked about her often. I want to send my condolences, my love and a huge hug to her mother and her family. I will miss her and loved her a lot.

I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet daughter, sister and aunt, Jenny. I have fond memories of growing up in the same ward with the Romig family and remember Jenny’s ever present smile and sweet demeanor. My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this profoundly difficult time.

My heart felt condolences go out to the entire Romig family. I love you all, but Jenny has a special place in my heart’s memory. She was a peaceful influence in our home when she visited. Her beaming smile and kind ways filled our home and helped us to be a little more loving when she was around. I treasure the friendship she had with Kameo. Thank you for having the funeral online. What a blessing it was to watch. Love and peace wished your way!

I worked with Jenny and Jared at the Phoenix Discover site. Jenny was at that time in the training services. Was a joy and very a passionate person. Jared and I worked together in charge off for a brief time as well. Jared always said, "hi" and would chat. Jenny always seemed a little more reserved, but was a great teacher. She will be missed by many and never forgotten in our hearts. Great memories to hang on too. Blessings to all your family.
