John Paul Byington 57, passed away peacefully on Saturday March 23rd, 2024, at home surrounded by family and loved ones after a long courageous battle with cancer.

John was born July 26, 1966, in Salt Lake City, Utah. His parents, Dennis and Frances Byington, raised 4 children, John being the youngest. His brothers Kerry, Kent, and Jeff enjoyed many fond memories with John in getting into mischief together.

John met his sweetheart, Tracy, in 1996 while working at Merit Medical. After years of being friends the two fell in love and were married on February 26, 2005, and were later sealed in the Draper Temple on May 26, 2023.

John was blessed with many children through his blended family. John and Tracy were also fortunate enough to adopt 4 children, who have enjoyed the past 2 years of John being their "Papa". John truly loved his family with every ounce of his being. He always wanted to spend time with them by going on adventures filled with laughter, excitement, and love.

John was an avid fisherman and loved to share his passion with those he loved. He enjoyed the outdoors and going on trips with his family. He was also skilled at cooking especially on the grill. With his family and friends, he always loved to play cards, video games, and made every occasion a party.

John worked at Envirotech for 16 years as a machinist and made many lifelong friends there. He loved his work and took pride in supporting his family and company.

John was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Some of his fondest memories were serving in the nursery. He loved working with kids and often commented on how he felt blessed by their sweet spirits.

He was preceded in death by his mother Frances Byington, his grandparents Lorna and Gaylord Larson, Vonda and Harold Byington, and his dear daughter Carli Bischoff.

John is survived by his wife Tracy, his children; David Bischoff, Travis (Jasmyn) Swindall, Nick (Sam) England, Whitney England, Traven (Analisa) England, John Byington, Aubrianna Byington, Kayden Byington-England, Danyelle England, Kerby England and Korbin England, his grandchildren; Breanna Bischoff, Brooklin Bischoff, and Aiden Swindall, his father Dennis Byington, and his siblings Kerry (Jennifer) Byington, Kent (Amy) Byington, and Jeff Byington. And many other loved ones.

We want to express our gratitude for Dr. Paul Shami, Dr. Deborah Stevens, the BMT unit, and the many other care workers at the Huntsman Cancer Institute who gave John exceptional and loving care. We'd also like to thank Dr. Jacqueline Dickey from the University of Utah Hospital who supported John in getting home to spend his final moments with his family.

Tracy,
So sorry to hear of John’s passing. I enjoyed working with him for many years at EnviroTech. He was a good man of integrity, candid in his comments and cared much for the company. I wish I could join you today as you honor his life, but am in Minnesota visiting family. Fortunately the zoom option will allow me to listen in. I hope your understanding and faith in Eternal principles will bring you comfort during this time of morning.
