Listen to Obituary

Jonathan Bradshaw Morris was born on February 19, 1995, and passed away of natural causes in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 3, 2025, at age 30.

Jonathan was brilliant, and he seemed to absorb and retain almost everything he learned, saw or read. He was interested in, skilled at, or proficient in a wide range of things, including construction, psychology, reading, writing, metalworking, linguistics, blacksmithing, astronomy, welding, Greek, machining, guitar, rock climbing, philosophy, building and upgrading computers, computer graphics, drawing, movie history and critique, ancient history, modern history, computer programing, video game design, computer modeling, sociology, metallurgy, military history, world affairs, woodworking, singing, etiology of languages, art history, laser engraving, 3D printing, keeping an aquarium, cars, hiking and camping, online video gaming, physics and piano. He attended Salt Lake Community College and Utah State University.

One of the best times of his life was when he helped build a school in Kenya. He wanted to go on a mission, but his health prevented that.

Jonathan was tenderhearted. His strongest personal trait was his concern for the feelings of others.

He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by Ranae Sanders Morris (mother), Bradley Morris (father), Alexandra Morris Poll (sister), Matthew Morris (brother) and Evie (his rescue dog).

A viewing will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2025, with services at 1:00 p.m. at the Crestview meetinghouse, 2795 Crestview Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah. Interment will follow at Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery, 2350 E. 1300 S., Salt Lake City, Utah.

Brad and RaNae: Absolutely shocked to hear this sad news about Jonathan. We have so many fun memories from when the kids were young, growing up across the street from each other. May your wonderful memories of Jonathan be a blessing (as we say in our faith). We are all sending you virtual hugs and strength from the Seattle area.
