Calvin Richard McKinlay

1924 ~ 2013

Calvin Richard McKinlay 89, Died 7 Dec 2013 at Beehive Homes of West Jordan. Born 4 July 1924 in Teton Idaho to James Lavon and Hazel Catherine Murdock McKinlay, second of four children and raised in Pocatello, Idaho. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, served a mission to the Eastern States and was sealed on 21 Aug 1950 in the Logan temple to Nadine Lavonne Jorgensen. He served in WWII as a Civil Engineer, and received a Bachelor of Soil Scientist at USAC. He worked as a Soil Scientist for the USDA received the rank of LTC in the army reserve.

He is survived by his wife and 7 children. Caline (Steven) Kitchen of Orem, Timothy (Judy) McKinlay of Magna, Kathy (Lennie) Wong of Canada, Robert (Monica) McKinlay of Layton, Lydia (Ronald) Carlisle of Salt Lake, Rebecca (Mark) Watts of Kearns, Jamilyn (Mike) Goold of Pahrump NV, 31 grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a stillborn son, his parents, brother Lavon, sister Dona, granddaughter Melaine Carlisle and a great granddaughter Samantha Kuester. What he wanted most in life is to see his family happy.

Services will be Sat Dec 14th 11:00 am at Copperhill 1st Ward 4195 S 6000 W WVC. Viewing will be 9:45-10:45am. Special thanks to the Beehive Homes staff for their loving care of our father.
