Dr. Judith A. Reiten,74, a highly respected and beloved therapist, teacher, and television journalist passed away on July 30, 2023, in Sandy, Utah. Born on March 25, 1949, to Robert A. Perry and Mazelle Hinckley Perry. Dr. Reiten's remarkable career was marked by her relentless pursuit of knowledge, her deep passion for mental and spiritual wellbeing, and her unwavering commitment to empowering her students and patients.
A California resident for most of her life, Dr. Reiten returned to school in middle life earning undergraduate and master's degrees with multiple honors in Speech Communication with a focus on Intercultural Studies, then applied those skills to pursue her passion for humanist oriented psychology, earning an M.A. and PsyD.
As a young world traveler, she soon discovered her natural ability to communicate and bond without the need for a shared language. This experience eventually led to Dr. Reiten's groundbreaking research and successful practice of combining a strong desire to help others and "non-verbal behavior to establish lasting trust with her multicultural patients and each person she interacted with. In her personal and professional life, Dr. Reiten was a dedicated practitioner, teacher, and friend who cared deeply about others.
Dr. Reiten's impact reached beyond academia and professional practice, leaving a lasting mark on the community and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy, marked by her contributions to psychology, and her nurturing approach to others, will live on in the countless individuals she has touched throughout her distinguished career.

Services will be held Thursday August 3, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E Dimple Dell Road, Sandy, Utah. A viewing will be held 1 hour prior to the services.
