Judith Watkins (Judy) passed away peacefully at the age of 87 in her home in Sandy, Utah, on Monday, November 6, 2023, from the effects of age. Judy was born on June 26, 1936, to Eugene Peters Watkins and Areba Crockett Watkins. She had two sisters, Jeanne Watkins, who passed away in childhood; and is survived by her sister Marjorie Watkins Davis.
Since birth, Judy suffered from a mental disability, but she didn’t let that stand in her way. She loved being around her family. Judy was blessed with a loving heart and an infectious giggle that let you know she was happy to see you. For much of her life, she enjoyed the company of a small pet dog named Mitzi. She took care of her and loved to walk her around the block. Judy enjoyed going to Columbus Community Center where she associated with friends and loved to bowl.
Judy was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed attending church and loved singing hymns and primary songs.
A viewing/celebration of her life will be held at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South in Salt Lake City, on Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 2 to 3 PM. She will be laid to rest alongside her beloved parents and sister at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 "N" Street in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Tuesday, November 14, 2023.
The family wishes to thank the loving and dedicated staff of Danville Services, Envision Hospice, and South Davis Hospice Services for their gentle care of Judy in the latter years of her life.
