Julia Jeanne Campbell Pearson

Julia Jeanne Campbell Pearson, 91, returned to her Heavenly Father on September 29, 2024. 

Jeanne was born on March 23, 1933 to Ray Richard Poulsen and Marian Isabelle Ashment. She was raised in Midvale, Utah and graduated from Jordan High School where she met her eternal companion, Duane W Campbell.  Jeanne attended LDS Business College and was in the student government. Jeanne and Duane were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on March 20, 1953. Together they raised three children. Jeanne and Duane took their family on many camping trips and other adventures. They taught their family to love the outdoors. A family favorite is camping at ‘Eastfork’ near Bryce Canyon. This is a tradition our family carries on to this day. Duane passed away September 9, 1987. 

Jeanne later married Donald Pearson on May 3, 1991 for Time, in the Jordan River Temple. They loved to travel and go to their condominium in St George. They were loving parents and grandparents. Jeanne took loving care of Don when he suffered from Alzheimer’s. Don passed away on March 8, 2017. 

Jeanne was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints throughout her life and served faithfully when called upon. She had a great love for her Heavenly Father and Savior. 

Jeanne loved to paint and do crafts. She decorated cakes for birthdays, weddings and anniversaries for several years. Jeanne was also amazing at memorization. She would recite poems and scriptures for church lessons and talks.  She lovingly cared for her parents as they aged. She also helped raise several of her grandchildren while parents were working. Jeanne had an unconditional love for family, friends and neighbors. She constantly served her family and those around her. Jeanne was a light to those around her and had a great sense of humor. Even when she had issues with her memory, she was still quick with the whit and kept us laughing. 

Jeanne is survived by children Terry Campbell, Cheri (Randy) Hubrich, Craig Oliver, Shirlee Randall, Drew (Cathie) Pearson, Sharon (Tom) Shaw. She has several grandchildren: Troy (Jennifer) Campbell, Jace (Jennifer) Oliver, Brady Campbell. Tyler (Celesta) Oliver, Trent (Tiffany) Campbell, Danielle (Austin) Spencer and Braden (Whitney) Hubrich, nephew Dirk (Patti) Anderson and niece Debbie (Alan) James. Thanks to Amanda Shaw for loving ‘Julia’ as her grandma. Jeanne also has several great-grandchildren, and other family whom she loved dearly. She loved Don’s family as her own. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Duane Campbell, husband Donald Pearson, daughter Susan Oliver and sister Gayle Anderson. 

We would like to express our gratitude to Cedarwood at Sandy and Canyon’s Hospice for the kind and tender care she was given. We are so grateful to all of those who loved our sweet mom! 

A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 6-8 pm at the LDS building 9636 S 1700 E, Sandy, UT 84092. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 10 am at Larkin Sunset Gardens at 1950 E 10600 S, Sandy, Utah 84092. Immediately following, a lunch and celebration of life will be held from 11 am-1 pm at the Chateau at 1910 E Dimple Dell Rd Sandy, UT 84092 (next to Larkin Cemetery).
