Listen to Obituary

Julie Ann Swilor Hunt, Jules, 60, passed away on March 30th, 2026 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Julie was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on November 20th, 1965 to her parents Milan D. Swilor and Judy James Swilor. She was the only girl among her three brothers Milan, Mitch, and Russ. In her early years, one of her favorite things to do was ride on the back of Milan’s bike to the White City Library. She often told stories of her adventures alongside her childhood best friend, Jana.

She married Darren Hunt on November 10th, 1987 in Fillmore, Utah. Their marriage spanned twenty beautiful, loving, adventurous years. Some of their best memories were spent in Utah’s outdoors. Traveling to Southern Utah to visit Darren’s family, taking their boat out on Flaming Gorge, and camping in the Wasatch Mountains were among her favorite things.

Together, Darren and Julie raised three wonderful children. Julie was a dedicated mother to her two daughters, Lorin and Lexie, and her son Max. Her family was immensely important to her and she poured her heart into everything she did for them.

Julie worked at J & L Contracting, a family business founded by her father. She took pride in her work and was particularly proud of being a strong woman in her industry.

A cornerstone of Jules’ character was her generous and loving soul who cared deeply about people. She volunteered her time at Primary Children’s Hospital and was always a helping hand to her family. Her generosity extended beyond her family, making many great friends. She was someone who was always there when it mattered. Wherever she went, good times and laughter seemed to follow.

She had a well known love of all things fashion. Whether it was shopping at designer stores or searching the clearance rack, she could always find something to add to her wardrobe. Flashy jewelry, big hair, and great outfits were her calling card. Her style was uniquely and unmistakably ‘Jules.’

Although she fought through difficult personal battles, she remained incredibly loved by her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love and joy that will be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Julie is survived by her mother Judy Swilor, her favorite Aunt Jackie, brother Milan (Kelli) Swilor, Darren (Luoya) Hunt, daughters Lorin (Zach) Hale; her three loved grandchildren James, Emma, and Rhett Hale, daughter Lexie Hunt, and son Max (Alexa) Hunt.

She is preceded in death by her father Milan D. Swilor, brothers Russell and Mitch Swilor, and nephew Russel I. Swilor.

Until we see you again Jules– Mother, Daughter, Grandma, Sister, Aunt, Niece, and Friend. We’ll miss you everyday.

Guestbook/Condolences

My dear friend Julie. I cherish all the childhood memories we had together. We had so many good times and laughs, camping, riding bikes, boating, sleeping out under the stars and just being silly. I know how deeply Julie loved her family and friends, always so caring and giving with such a tender heart. You're all in my thoughts and prayers Lorin, Lexie, Max and family.
