Lu Jean Draper Homer, forever 29, Sandy, Utah passed away August 13, 2015 persevering through a long and difficult struggle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 60 years Eldon Homer, children Janine (Glenn) Payne, Jeff (MaryAnne) Homer, Karen (Rob) Haws, Paula (Mark) Maxfield, and Drew (Susan) Homer. Twenty grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren and many wonderful friends. Lu Jean graduated from Moroni High School and Snow College. Completed her degree at Brigham Young University while raising 5 children and serving as the Relief Society President. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints always willing to serve in any capacity with integrity, ambition and class with Eldon by her side. She taught Kindergarten for 30 years at Sandy Elementary and had an amazing memory for names. Her family was her top priority and she was always willing to share her time, talents, and means on their behalf. She worked tirelessly to keep her children and grandchildren close by providing Sunday dinners and thematic parties throughout the years. Our thanks to South Valley Dialysis, Aspen Ridge Rehab Center and The Residence Care Source for their loving care of our Mom.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Mount Jordan 2nd Ward, 9331 S. 300 E. Sandy at 11:00am. A viewing will be held Friday, August 21, 2015 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road (10600 S.) from 6:00 to 8:00pm and from 9:30-10:30am at the Church on Saturday. Burial will follow in Sandy City Cemetery.
