Colton James Salaz

2004 ~ 2017

Colton's life was a roller coaster ride from the time he was born to the time he passed away. He was born pre-maturely at 25 weeks gestation, weighing just 1lb 6oz. and 1-foot long. Due to complications from his early birth, Colton ended up with Cerebral Palsy and the 6th Nerve Palsy. We were told that Colton would never walk. As he grew older, through the help of his teachers at school, his mother, grandmother, Uncle David, caregiver Umar; Colton went from wheelchair, to walker, to finally standing and walking on his own without too much help. He also did well in learning to climb stairs. Colton had such a strong desire to learn, that he was an overachiever. Because of those traits, he was on the school's honor roll. Colton was a very loving boy who loved to make friends; he didn't have a shy bone in his body.

He loved spending time with his family especially his Mother and his caregiver Umar. Colton will be greatly missed because he touched so many lives during his brief time here on earth. He was a great teacher of living in the moment and of showing patience. Tammy is so grateful to have had the chance to raise her son; she will never forget the teaching moments she had with him. Colton was her Champion and such a blessing and her miracle. We are proud of Colton for fulfilling his mission here and we know that he will be welcomed home by his Heavenly Father.

Colton is survived by his Mother Tammy Marrie Jarvis Salaz, his father Jason William Salaz, and many relatives and friends.
