Jeffrey Denton Thiede

1978 ~ 2020

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jeffrey Thiede notifies friends and family of his passing on Friday, March 27, 2020. He was taken unexpectedly from us at the early age of 41 and will be missed dearly.

Jeff was born on May 30, 1978, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the son of Cynthia LaVonne Anderson and Denton Earl Thiede. He grew up in the Sandy, Utah area with his brothers, Mike and Ryan, making countless friends along the way. At the age of 16, Jeff met his future wife and best friend, Brooke Scherbel Thiede. They were happily married on January 26, 1996. Jeff and Brooke loved and cared for their three children: Tanner, Jordyn, and Ashley. He was a great example to his children teaching them the importance of having a strong work ethic and caring for those around them, day or night. Jeff received an education at Salt Lake Community College and became a licensed Master Commercial Electrician. From there, he built his electrical company from the ground up, continuing to expand it for 16 years.

Jeff appreciated and loved the little things, especially authentic, glass-bottled root beer and new socks. He enjoyed talking to others and was always chatting with everyone. Jeff made friends everywhere he went. He made sure that his three children would always be able to take care of themselves. Jeff was a determined man. He'd do anything he set his mind to and accomplished so much in the little time we had with him. His perseverance and work ethic shined brightly among others.

Dad, we are so proud of you and all that you accomplished. The challenges you faced in your life ingrained in us a resilience we will carry for a lifetime. Thank you for keeping us laughing and for feeling everything so deeply. Thank you for your kindness, selflessness, humor, and love. We miss you so much and are incredibly saddened by this loss. We will love you forever.

Jeff leaves behind his best friend, Brooke, his children, Tanner (Lexi) Thiede, Jordyn Thiede, Ashley Thiede, and dog Molly.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 south), Sandy, Utah.
