Alvin Boyd James

Died peacefully at home with his daughter, Connie faithfully by his side. Born in Salt Lake City to Alvin and Mary Jensen James. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He attended South High School. He was a World War II Veteran, having served as an aviation cadet in the Navy. Boyd married Edith Timmons November, 25, 1944. He made his living in the automobile industry. He was instrumental in bringing the Triumph Franchise to Salt Lake. He was a General Manager for LH Strong VW and for many years a trusted employee of Dean Clark Used Cars.

Boyd was born to be a caregiver; he cheerfully and faithfully cared for his ailing wife for many years and his daughter Connie Mae till he took his last breath. Connie will miss his gentle care and unconditional LOVE. He was loved and respected by many for his incredible work ethic, generosity, his meticulous sense of fashion and pride in keeping his home immaculate.

Boyd is survived by his daughter Connie Mae Gustin, grandchildren John "Tommy" Thomas James and Kameron "Kami" Leigh Buchanan, three beautiful great granddaughters Bella, Baleigh and Bridgette, siblings Aline Gerkhe and H. Mervyn James, his daughter-in-law Kathie James and many nieces and nephews. Boyd is having a grand reunion with beloved family and friends who have preceeded him in death including his beautiful wife Edith and his son and best friend Thomas B. James. A special thank you to Luanne James Halliday, a beloved niece who gently cared for his every need and two special health care aids Salena and Jen for there over the top help with Connie and "Dad", along with the special hospice nurses at Cornerstone.

Services will be held on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 12:00 noon at the Cottonwood 11th ward, 1830 E. 6400 S., Murray with a viewing prior from 10:00-11:30 am. Interment will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
