Thomas Edward Lawrence II "Tom", 54, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend unexpectedly passed away on December 4, 2017 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born October 5, 1963 in Orange, California to Thomas Edward Lawrence and Anna Dixson Lawrence.
He met his wife, Lisa, while living in California. They met for the first time on his birthday in 1984 and were married on March 1, 1986. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. He always told Lisa that he had loved her his entire life—even before he knew her. Together they had 2 children: Thomas Lawrence III and Jessica Lawrence Steadman. His wife and his children meant the world to Tom and their home was filled with much love and laughter. Tom and Lisa spent a majority of their marriage living in San Jose, California and later West Jordan, Utah.
Tom was a man that people instantly loved. He was never without a joke or a story. He had the gift of making people laugh and could sit and talk with anyone. His jovial personality was a magnet for children— "Uncle Tom" was a favorite among his nieces and nephews. You could always find him playing and roughhousing with the kids at family functions.
He was a hard-working man and seemed most proud of his time working as a truck driving instructor for the State of Utah. He loved playing golf and church basketball. He also loved watching football—especially his favorite team the Oakland Raiders. Tom was an avid movie watcher and had an enormous DVD collection.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa, 2 children, Thomas (Brittany) and Jessica (Matthew Steadman) and 5 grandchildren, Thomas Jaden, Karter and Karmella Lawrence and Raiden and Kyree Steadman. He is also survived by his siblings, Jimmy Dunn (Melissa), Will Lawrence, Michael Lawrence, Robert (Corina) Lawrence, Laura Lawrence (Brian Stagner) and 2 step-brothers, John Lawrence (Ortie) and Michael Lawrence (Kayleen). His Utah family: father and mother-in-law Roy and Carol Warburton, brothers-in law Greg Warburton (LeAnn) and Brian Warburton (Jill), sisters-in-law Lynne Warburton Jensen (Gary), Kathy Warburton and Christy Warburton Watterson (Chad). He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas Lawrence and Anna Dixson Lawrence, step-father James Lawrence and sister Heather Lawrence.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 12 at 11:00am at the Westland 1st Ward Meetinghouse, 7645 S 3200W, West Jordan UT 84084. A viewing will be held at the same church location on Monday, December 11 from 6:00-8:00pm. Please note there will be no viewing on Tuesday prior to the funeral service.
