Steven Russell Evans

1986 ~ 2014

Steven Russell Evans, 28, beloved husband, son, brother and friend passed away October 27, 2014 after a five-year courageous battle against leukemia and graft-versus-host disease. He was born April 8, 1986 in Salt Lake City to Richard W. and Carolyn R. Evans. He married Taryn Nicolaides on July 29, 2010 in the Salt Lake Temple.

After graduating from East High School in 2004, Steven served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints in the NY/NY North Mission. Upon returning from his mission, he was diagnosed with leukemia and underwent a stem cell transplant. In spite of all of that, his greatest joy was when he married his sweetheart, Taryn and was sealed for all eternity. Steve loved his family, his puppy Peach, basketball and spending time with his good friends. Steve spent his final days testifying of Christ, the Atonement, the Plan of Salvation, and his love of family and friends. He never expressed any fear. Steve and his family wish to thank the wonderful medical team at Primary Children's Medical Center for their endless and loving care.

Steven is survived by his wife, Taryn, parents Rick and Carolyn, siblings Rick Jr. (Marty), Romney (Christy), Tyler (Amanda), John, Lauren (Ryan), in-laws Tom and Vicky Nicolaides and family, and twenty-one nieces and nephews.
