It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of beloved mother, sister, daughter, and friend, Karen Ross. She departed this life at her home in Riverton, at the age of 62, due to unforeseen medical complications.
Karen Lynn Hutcheon was born on October 8, 1963, in Sandy, Utah. She attended Jordan High, where she shined as a varsity song leader. She went on to build a career in accounting, and kept the books for her family business, and more recently for Heatizon Systems. Karen shared many years of marriage and two children with Mike Ross.
Karen was a friend to many, and a mother to all. She was the kind of person who made sure you were fed, warm, and supported, no matter what else was going on. Her greatest joy was being a mother; nothing meant more to her than her children. Her love language was acts of care, and she showed up in countless ways for the ones she loved. She loved to cook and host gatherings, go camping, fishing, gardening and golfing. She made even the dullest of chores fun, by singing and dancing along the way. As a breast cancer survivor, Karen embraced life to its fullest.
Preceded in death by her mother, Roberta Hutcheon Hixson, son-in-law Dallen Steadman, and beloved golden retriever, Rusty. Karen is survived by her siblings, Todd, Kim and Courtney, her father, Clayton, her two children, Jackson and Malory, and many other friends and family who loved her dearly.
A celebration of life will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens on February 5, from 11:00am-2:00pm
My sincere condolences to a well loved friend. We spent many hours in school cheering and dancing together which she enjoyed to the fullest. I was blessed to know her and I’m so sorry to hear of her passing. May her children know that she was loved and cared about greatly. The heavens have welcomed another wonderful person into their fold. She will be missed.🫶
So sorry to hear of your loss, especially as it was so unexpected. We are thinking of you and you are in our prayers.
