We are celebrating the beautiful life of our cherished Mom, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, Friend. Karen is known and loved for her “tell it like it is” honesty that touched the lives of everyone she met. Everyone who knew her shared what a gift she was—always smiling, always happy. She answered your call, whether it was a late-night chat or from a friend in need. Her spirit was bright and remains a light in each of our lives.

Karen passed unexpectedly at home. She is reunited with her parents, brother, beloved aunts, grandparents and friends. Heaven is rocking with a huge reunion of love, laughter, music and an intense game of cards.

Karen Renea Boone was born October 21, 1964, to Thomas Mike and Loretta June (Smith) Boone in Helena, Montana. She was raised in Helena in a small house surrounded by a white picket fence. She had two big brothers and a big sister. She also had cousins, aunts and uncles. Her dreams to go places started with the family’s first trip to Kansas. She met so many new family members and made new friends.

She was determined to go to college and get a degree. She attended Ricks College before being accepted into BYU her dream school. It was a little scary because the school had more people than her hometown. She tackled it like a pro.

After college, Karen returned to Helena and worked for Montana’s Fish, Wildlife & Parks Department to save for a mission. A year later, she became Sister Boone, serving in the Charlotte, North Carolina, Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In towns like Charlotte and Kernersville, Karen made lifelong friends and helped others come to know Christ and the joy of the gospel.

Karen returned home and quickly resumed her career. Over the years, she worked in the publishing business, construction, and vehicle emissions industries, and ran her own business, Boone’s Accounting. As a controller, Karen knew how to dive deep into a company’s financials. She tracked every penny, solved the challenging problems, and made herself indispensable wherever she worked.

But her greatest role by far was Mom. After years of being a deeply involved and loving aunt, Karen finally became a mother—and Lance Noah Green became the center of her universe. She cooked delicious meals, tackled mountains of laundry (especially tough when your kid’s an athlete), and ran from school to practice, to tournaments, and appointments.

Her only complaint? Constantly having to buy Noah new basketball shoes, since his feet seemed to grow a size every month and wore them out in no time. But really, that “complaint” was pride. Karen was endlessly proud of Noah—his ability to learn, lead, and lift up those around him. The support system Noah has today is a direct reflection of Karen’s love, guidance, and example. While many of us look up to him because of his height, far more look up to him for the strength and character he embodies—qualities passed down from his mother.

Though she was a total workaholic, Karen loved to travel. She somehow found time for bunko nights, dinner with friends, and trips to visit loved ones in Montana, California, Oregon, Mississippi, New Mexico, Maryland, and beyond. She followed Noah’s basketball journey to tournaments in Las Vegas and Idaho, and when she could, she traveled big—cruising to Alaska, the Caribbean, Central America, and flying to Hawaii more than a few times. She loved seeing new places, and even more, she loved bringing others along for the adventure.

Here’s to your next grand adventure, Karen. You will remain in our memories, our stories, and our hearts forever.

Survived by her son Lance Noah Green, siblings, Thomas (Lynne) Boone, Brenda (David) Johnson. and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers please donate to Noah’s college fund to Karen’s VENMO account @Karen-Boone-8

Our thoughts and prayers are with you Noah...and with all of Karen's family. She was one of the most generous people I have ever met.

Very sorry to hear that Karen had passed. We worked closely together for the better part of 25 years. I really appreciated her dedication and strong work ethic, no one in our company knew the finances in as much detail as Karen. Our offices were adjacent to each other helping us to become friends, I could count on her for fun conversations, money and tax advice, along with videos of Noah playing basketball, definitely a proud mom. I am among the many people that will miss her.

I had the pleasure of working with Karen through Opus Inspection. There was a time that we spoke almost daily. Within in this time, I really got to know Karen and her son, "Noah". I learned of the travels to Vegas for Noah's games, to the request of Noah to having pizza from the local wholesale club, in which Karen let me know, he loved! She shared their cruise to Alaska with me! She shared the loss of her brother to me. She spoke of her family constantly! But....her greatest joy....Noah! Rest In Peace Karen!

Having a little brother is one of the greatest prides of my life, and I'm so thankful that meant I got to grow up with you too. I hope someday I embody the kindness, honestly, and love you always showed me. I miss you Karen, thank you for being a second mom to me, you are on my heart and mind always.

My heart felt condolences to the family. Karen had a direct way about her drawing you near. She loved her family and friends deeply. I am thankful for her presence in my life. May all the memories replace the sorrow as the days pass. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

You’re very much missed especially by the man that you gave your heart to I’m blessed to have that honor to love you. It so hard for me not to hear your voice of wisdom anymore, I was very blessed to be apart of your life and create an amazing son.

You were always supportive and the best mother I have ever known a mother to be, to this very day! I remember all the trips & the travels we did to different countries and states and having the best time as a family.

Now you get to sit down and rest and relax in the arms of Jesus, and don’t have to worry about finishing another project.

RIP my Beloved

Love you LLG
