  • Karral LeGrand Draper Jr. was born in Sacramento, CA 61 years ago on October 13, 1960. He died tragically on November 24, 2021 in a skiing accident. Lee and Tami had just celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary two and a half weeks earlier. They were married in the Jordan River Temple in South Jordan, UT on November 5, 1982.

Lee was a legend. He was a practical joker. He was a friend, fishing buddy, mentor, spiritual pillar, teacher, coach, advisor. He was whatever you needed him to be right then. There are too many memories to share.

He frequently told his kids that if he had a choice, he would like to take his last breath in the mountains. He was never happier than when he was in the mountains with his various family members. He was everybody’s favorite dad, favorite uncle, favorite brother, favorite friend.

His children and extended family members loved and idolized him. He was a genuinely good human being and made each of them feel loved.

He was strong, and smarter than most. He could’ve lived another 200 years and never run out of adventures.

He was such a sweetheart. All he ever wanted was to know that he was loved. He loved his friends and his family deeply, but he loved his wife more.

He taught his children to be creative and to solve problems. He preferred to do everything for his wife, but he taught his kids so that they could take care of her when he was gone.

We were not ready for this. But we will live on and keep his memory alive. If he wasn’t so humble, he would be so proud to know how deeply we all loved him.

Lee is survived by his wife Tami, his children Tom (Kierstin), Jacey (Adam), Chris (Megumi), Shelby (Eric), Moses and Mikey. His sisters, Judy (Danni), and Clover (Sam) and brothers Kirk (Linda) and Kent (Patti), numerous nephews and nieces whom he loved deeply. Finally, Lee is survived by his 15 grandchildren who were the source of great pride and joy.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents Karral LeGrand Draper and Lorna Simpson Draper and his sister LaRee Draper.

Funeral services for Lee will be from 1:00pm-2:00pm on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the LDS chapel located at 1617 E Richins Rd, Draper UT. Public viewing prior to the service from 11:00am-12:30pm. Burial at Larkin Cemetery 1950 East 10600 South Sandy, UT

Tami and family, so sorry for your loss. Lee was a great friend and good dude. We worked together for several years and often talked about our kids and they're activities. He was a great father and he loved his family very much.

Lee Draper… where does one start? I hired him back in 1994 at Advantech, Inc. and did that man ever shine as such a great human being! I put him right up there with my dad, Tom Brewer, who passed away in 2012.
Lee didn’t have a single flaw. What he did have was Honesty, Integrity, Commitment to work and family, and damn did I ever love our fishing trips to our family cabin in Wyoming with Harold Sullivan (another co-worker).
I had so much faith in both of those men than on one fishing trip I told them both… if I ever have to go to war, I want to go with you two! And boy, did Lee love to fish… our river rafting trips never ended until the sun was down and of course Lee always caught the most!
It was an honor in my life to be acquainted with such a great man and I wish all the best for the family. I’d love to pay them a visit on my next trip to SLC. Sending love and sympathy to everyone related and acquainted with the irreplaceable Lee Draper.
