Kathleen Lena Grace Smith "Kathi" Julio, 76, of Draper, Utah, passed away unexpectedly on October 12, 2023. She was born on December 16, 1946, in Tottenham, England, and immigrated to the US on the HMS Queen Mary with her mother (Toni) and father (Ted) to join family already living in Utah in 1956. Kathleen, also known as Kathi, was a beloved wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Kathi's love for her family was evident in her role as a devoted wife to her husband, Dan Julio. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for her daughter, Angelena (Eppie) Duncombe, and her immensely loved stepchildren: Dana (Arlyn) Fjeldsted, Deidra Pfeil, Dan (Rachel) Julio, Brandon (Haydn ) Julio, Gavin (Kirtley) Julio, and Derek (Melissa) Julio. Kathi's heart overflowed with joy as she watched her family grow, and she adored her grandchildren: James (Micki) Julio, Shyloh (Dave) Wells, Jonah Pfeil, Ian Pfeil, Kaylee Julio, Camden Julio, and her great-grandchildren: Phoenix Julio, Sydney Julio, Zeke Hill, and Julian Ramser. She also had a special place in her heart for her furry companions, Koko and Shani.

Kathi had a zest for life and a curious spirit. She enjoyed tinkering with dollhouses, exploring yard sales to find hidden treasures (and the occasional bingo prize), and bringing them home to create a wonderful environment. Kathi's attention to detail and creativity were evident in her hobbies, which brought her immense joy.

In addition to her passion for dollhouses and yard sales, Kathi had a love for travel. She embraced the opportunity to explore new places, experience different cultures, and create lasting memories with her loved ones. Her adventurous spirit and open-mindedness allowed her to fully immerse herself in the beauty of each destination she visited.

Kathi's educational and professional journey included graduating from Granger High School in 1964. She worked for many years as a seamstress and later as a Union Business Representative for The International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union, wanting to help ensure better treatment, working conditions, and brighter futures for many women across Utah. She later pursued higher education at Columbia College, earning her degree in business management, and went on to become a valued accountant for the state of Utah, working for both Udot and The Division of Air Quality. She highly valued the importance of hard work, knowledge, and personal growth, which she carried with her throughout her entire life.

Kathi is preceded in death by her father, Edward (Ted) John Smith, and her mother, Teuna (Toni) Arenjte Breman. Their loving presence will be missed, but their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved Kathleen.

Kathleen "Kathi" Julio will be remembered for her kind and loving nature, her adventurous spirit, and her dedication to her family. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Services for Kathi will be held on October 27th, 2023, at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E, 10600 S, Sandy, UT 84092. Viewing/visitation will be from 1:00 - 1:45 PM. Funeral/graveside services beginning at 2:00 PM
