Such a wonderful sweet person. Always would greet you with a smile on her face. My grandkids remember the popsicles she would hand over the fence in the summer. Kathy and Lee are great neighbors and she will be missed. Till we meet again 🙏🏻

Born the daughter of: Herman (Hank) Thiessens and Phyllis Thiessens in Salt Lake City, Utah
Married to Lee Young October 8th, 1988
Kathy was a devoted Born-Again Believer and was well known as a woman of faith. She had a relationship with her father God, the Holy Spirit and a personal relationship with her Savior the Lord Jesus (the Christ). She was taken to her heavenly home on Friday the 5th of June 2026. She is no doubt enjoying worship and being embraced by her family and friends who passed through the veil before her. Kathy was preceded by her father Hank Thiessens, Mother Phyllis Thiessens, Brothers, Dennis(shorty) Charles and Sister Linda.
She is survived by: Her loving friend and husband, Lee Young, her son Robert Bruce, her brothers Scott, Rick, Brent, and her friend/sister of 50 years Kathy Sharp.
Kathy is a high school graduate and was the first heavy equipment operator for Salt Lake City's public works. After marriage to Lee Young she worked tirelessly at blending a loving family. She was active in church where she loved to worship with song, dance and banners including wings that she sewed. She loved blowing her shofar and playing bongos. She was featured on the front page of the Salt Lake Tribune 06/10/2000 leading a procession for the "March for Jesus"...
After a struggle with atrial fibrillation and lung issues she passed peacefully at home.

Words can never say how very much you are loved. I was truly blessed to have you in my life, I will carry that love for eternity. Rest in peace my dear sister.
Such a delightfully quirky free spirit. She always seemed to put others ahead of herself. I am a huge fan and look forward to seeing her again one day. Until then I'm sure she's having the time of her life. Rest in a peaceful forever Aunt Kathy. I'll miss you.

To our Nieghborhood mother Mrs Kathy. We will always remember you and the joyful happy personality you always had for us all. We are thankful for the time we had. The lord has called. Until we meet again, look down on us and provide the protection and love you always had for us. Meet us at the gates with some of that apple banana bread. Our condolences to all the families. Love from the Pankey’s.
Kathy exemplified a person who was transformed by Jesus. Literally a new creation. Kathy and Lee loved and love much and I am sure she was welcomed with "well done thou good and faithful servant". Someone like Kathy is a faith builder for the rest of us, you know God is real by looking at her life.
Such a sweet lady and so giving. Was the best I ever met at saying a prayer and making you feel comforted from it. I will miss you Aunt Kathy.
