Kaye Price

Kaye Price, age 75, passed away peacefully on September 8th, 2026 in Murray, Utah. Born on February 23, 1951, in Silver Fork, Utah, Kaye was the cherished daughter of Merlin and Angela Barela.

Kaye was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Douglas Price; her parents, Merlin and Angela Barela; and her siblings: Carole Montoya, Marsha Conti, Merlin A. Barela, Lois Glover, Jennie Quezada, David A. Barela, and Mae Barela.

A woman of immense warmth and grace, Kaye’s presence brought light and laughter to every room she entered. Her caring and loving spirit was evident in all aspects of her life, from her legendary chili verde to her stunning flower gardens.

Kaye was a devoted wife and cherished companion to her husband, Douglas Price. Kaye and Doug spent 54 wonderful years together, enjoying each other’s company, traveling, working side by side, and making time to play and laugh. As Doug’s health declined over the final years of his life, Kaye’s devotion was especially evident in the tender and loving care she provided, standing faithfully by his side through every challenge. She was a loving mother to her children: Teresa Galloway (Glen), Robert Price (Jennifer), Dana Price (Cassandra), Sandy Severance, and April Merrell (Terry). Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her delight, and no visit ended without a bag of candy. She made everyone feel loved and at home, leaving an enduring legacy of unconditional love.

Throughout her career, Kaye dedicated her talents to Deseret/Ballard Medical, Kimberly Clark, and ultimately retired from the State of Utah. Beyond her professional life, she created countless treasured memories with her family, filled with camping trips, fishing, cooking over an open fire, time at the beach, family reunions, and lively card games.

Kaye found great joy in the simple pleasures: a good book, her morning coffee on the deck, her cherished collection of orchids, chocolate, and all things purple. She was a beautiful, kind, giving, strong, and intelligent woman who always dressed classy and radiated beauty both inside and out. Kaye was a true blessing to her family and this world. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 15th at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary (1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, UT). A viewing will be held Monday, September 14th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, September 15th from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to services at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
