On June 29, 2024, Keegan Chatwin Bosen, 31, of Herriman, Utah, passed away unexpectedly. Keegan was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on March 9, 1993. Keegan was a beautiful baby, with an easy disposition… if he had comfortable shoes, which would remain true throughout his life! Two days after Keegan’s first birthday he became a big brother when his sister, Kaleigh, joined the family. He moved with his family to Arizona just a month later which afforded them the blessing of living near grandparents and great-grandparents that doted on them.
Four more sisters joined the family, all before Keegan turned nine years old. While he loved being a brother to so many sisters, often telling strangers that he had so many sisters because his parents didn’t have a TV, he longed for a brother. When he was 11 years old, the only thing on his Christmas list was a baby brother. Three months later, as Keegan prepared to turn 12, he made it very clear that his only wish was still to have a brother. Three days after Keegan’s 12th birthday, his baby brother was born. When Keegan arrived home from school, he found an envelope on the front door, containing a birth announcement. Upon reading the name selected for his highly anticipated new brother, Keegan burst into tears and stated “I’ve waited my whole life for a brother and you are going to give him a stupid name?” When he was asked what he would name his brother, he replied without a second’s hesitation, (clearly he’d been thinking of this for years), Bradley Phillip! And that is how Bradley got his name.
Keegan was blessed with a beautiful voice and was a member of the prestigious Phoenix Boys Choir, from 2000-2007.
Keegan was passionate about snow sports, so when his family decided to move to Utah in 2020, Keegan’s bags were among the first packed.
He had recently started a new job that he loved, just a few weeks prior to his death.
Keegan loved to cook and could grill a killer steak. He would make homemade salsa by the gallon and his culinary speciality was grilled salmon. Much to his delight, only his sister, Paige, and Grandma Rita like salmon so he had very few people to share with! His parents would smugly savor every bite of their steaks, knowing they were the real winners of his skilled grilling.
Keegan was a returning member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved attending church with his family and it was always a delight to hear him singing the hymns.
Keegan is survived by his parents, Phillip and Alison Bosen; sisters Kaleigh, Sydney, Paige, Ashton and Kendall; and his adored little brother, Bradley; grandmother Nadine Bosen; grandparents Sidney and Rita Mitchell; grandfather Gene Williams; girlfriend Marissa Stevens; as well as countless family and friends that love him and will all miss him greatly. Keegan was preceded in death by grandfather Lynn Bosen; cousin Amy Moffat Graham; and great-grandparents Kenneth and Melba Chatwin.
Services will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5424 W Rosecrest Rd, Herriman, Utah with a viewing at 9:30 am, followed by funeral services at 11:30 am. Interment at Salt Lake City Cemetery.
