Listen to Obituary

K. Boyd Baugh, 94, died Saturday February 21, 2026.

Boyd was born November 11, 1931 in Logan, Utah to Kenneth V. Baugh and Luetta Clawson. He married Donna Johnson on June 14, 1954 in the Logan Temple. He graduated from Logan High School and Utah State University.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served a mission in Denmark and served faithfully in various callings including bishop of the Stanford Ward and also the Los Altos 1st Ward. Boyd also served for many years on the Community Relations Executive Committee, San Francisco Bay Area Public Relations-Public Affairs. He and his wife, Donna, moved to Salt Lake in 2012 and he continued to serve whenever and wherever asked.

Boyd cherished his family above all else, and it showed in everything he did. Whether gathered around the table or simply spending time together, he was fully present with the people he loved most. To his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was a steady and trusted mentor — someone they could turn to for wisdom and guidance as they navigated their own lives. Perhaps one of the greatest gifts he and mom ever gave the family was the week-long reunion in Park City, a beloved tradition they lovingly organized for 30 years.

He was an entrepreneur who built a successful business and was an inspirational leader with deeply held values.

Boyd loved his country and served in the Army Reserves for many years.

Boyd's pride in Utah State University ran deep. He was a Utah State alumnus, an avid Aggie fan. Boyd carried that blue and white spirit with him wherever life took him —serving as the USU Alumni President in Northern California and lending his time and talent to the Utah State University Foundation Board.

Survivors include: Diane (Ken Rose), Ken Baugh, Sherry (Glen Titensor) his brother Glenn Baugh, 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by the love of his life Donna, his parents, his sister Janice, his daughter-in-law Melinda and his great-granddaughter Junnie.

A special thanks to his caregiver Norma Blake who lovingly cared for him and kept him safe, content and comfortable over the past year.

Boyd’s funeral will be held at the LDS Church located at 135 A Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84103 on March 6th at 11:30 preceded by a viewing at 10 AM. You may watch the service online through Zoom by clicking on the “Watch Service” button above. Burial will be in the Logan Cemetery on March 7 at 11:00 AM.

Guestbook/Condolences

Kindest and most sincere man there was. Grandpa had a good sense of humor and was classy as can be. His efforts and focus on family made cousins across state lines become friends. He welcomed everyone and was genuinely interested in the lives of each person he interacted with. I love you so much grandpa, we miss you already, but are so happy to know we will see you again and you are with Grandma in the meantime.

Sending my love to all Boyd’s family. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the funeral but plan to watch it. So many happy memories are mine from growing up two doors away from Uncle Ken and Aunt Luetta and kids. Special people as was Boyd

Beautiful obituary. It sounded like everyone would want to know and be associated with. My sympathy to the family - especially Diane and Ken.

Looks like Boyd will be watching over us from a different viewpoint now. I’m so happy he is a part of our family’s wonderful heritage! Bless us all for loving and caring and taking care of each other and putting God’s will first.

We remember Uncle Boyd for being someone genuinely interested in everyone he met. He was a good listener and always so kind to our us whenever we got the chance to see him. We pray that his children and grandchildren will feel comforted with his passing.

Our Dearest "Brother-in-the Gospel" Baugh,
It has been a true honor to know you as a neighbor, ward member and friend.
Ruthann, Larry and I already miss the vibrant conversations together at our frequent lunches of Shrimp Quesadillas at the Red Iguana.
It was always a comfort to be around you: The feeling that something was Right in the World.
I know you had a special friendship and true spiritual influence on Uncle Pete Harman during your shared time in Los Altos, California; leading him to accomplish ordinances in Temple Work.
This is a lasting legacy to our family.
We love you and deeply miss your welcoming smile, and the intelligent essence you always emulated.

I have so many sweet memories of Boyd from when I was a kid and visiting my grandma Ardella. He was always so kind and fun. I haven’t seen him in years and yet I still feel how much I will miss him.

I was EQ Pres of the Stanford Singles ward when Boyd became bishop. I was there until Sept 1976. I have had in mind to visit Bishop Baugh since we moved back to Utah. I am so sorry for not seeing him. He replaced Dean Lindsay. He was a good man. Besides the church I enjoyed talking to him about his business. He lived a wonderful good life. He is in good hands now with his wife and the Lord and parents, etc.

As a new graduate student at Stanford, I was warmly welcomed by Brother and Sister Baugh in the singles branch. What a good, wise, kind man! We are all better people because of the influence of our friend,
Bishop Boyd Baugh.
