Kenneth "Dee" Sorensen

1955 ~ 2024

Kenneth passed away the early morning of Friday February 9th in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was born February 25,1955 in Salt Lake City Utah, the middle son of Joseph Roach Sorensen and Ellen May Stephenson. He married Karan Childs in 1979 and later divorced. With her, he had 3 daughters, Kyna, Brandie, Brenda. The smile of his daughter is the secret purpose of every father.

Ken loved his family. He loved going fishing and having a good time, especially with his family. He spent many weekends and summers at the Ranch with his mom, Glen, and his brothers and sisters. He loved each and every one of them. Many weekends were spent fishing with his family and his friend of many years, Spud.

Dad has always been a huge support in his daughters dreams. He always told us he knew we could do what we set our hearts to accomplish and we did. He was always by our side for anything we may have needed to help us along the way.
He always welcomed with open arms all we have chosen to join our family.

We will never forget his loyal support to the San Francisco 49ers. Go Niners! He spent most of his life working in the sheet metal industry that he was great at and loved.

The last few years of his life he spent living in assisted living and developing many close friendships there in which we are very grateful. The communities have been so heartwarming and loving. Everyone who met Dad loved him. We would love for family and friends to come and share their favorite stories of times they spent with Dad.

Ken is survived by his Daughters Kyna (Paul), Brenda, Brandie(Juan). His 9 grandchildren and his 3 great grandchildren. His mother Ellen and all of his wonderful siblings.

He is preceded in death by his father Joseph, bonus father Glen, his nieces and nephews who have gone too soon.

Burial and other plans will be at a later date. Please reach out to daughters for those at a later time

A visitation and time to pay respects and share those stories you have with his family to Dee will take place from 10AM - 12PM on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Larkin Mortuary - Riverton, 3688 West 12600 South in Riverton, Utah.

I'm so so sorry for your loss. I remember visiting Kyna and Brecklyn when they lived with him and he was making some kind of meat in the crock pot and he offered me some as soon as I got to their house. I believe it was venison..it tasted so good and every time after I came to visit he seemed to have some kind of meat cooking in the crock pot and always knew I wanted some...Lol. I wish I could be there to give you all a BIG HUG. I love you all. Deepest Sympathy and Love from my family to yours.
