  • Kimberly Catherine Gibson, beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and devoted friend to many, passed away on 1 January 2021, leaving our lives empty and sorrowing for her departure. She was the last child born, into our loving and caring family and the only one without blazing red hair.

She grew up in the Cottonwood Heights area and graduated from Brighton High School. Soon after she became a mother to her beloved son, Jaustin. She was determined to raise him and did so in a kind and loving way. She became a CNA and worked several years in a group home, caring for and loving, God’s special spirits.

She married Michael David Melvin Kramer where they made their first memories in the Big Blue House in Daybreak and made many friends. Soon they were blessed with three more children, Britton Michael Craig, Anistyn Makaylyn, and JerziLyn. Her children were the brightest stars in her sky. Seeking to better herself she enrolled SLCC Nursing program, but life happened and although she was close, she was not able to secure a degree.
She was employed at Corner Canyon Rehabilitation where she excelled as a care giver being a mentor to many and a friend to all. She enjoyed her weekly co-ed softball games, especially when her children were there to cheer her on.

She is survived by her parents, Stephen and Marilyn Gibson, her children; Jaustin, Tabitha, Britton, Anistyn, and JerziLyn, brothers and sisters: Marc (Mindy), Eric (Kristin), Christianne, and Stephanie Webb (Brian) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Kimberly’s life was a struggle complicated by early life trauma and drug addiction. She was in full recovery for two years and sober at the time of her passing.

The family wishes to thank Corner Canyon Rehabilitation, especially Cheryl Kehl and Wendy Lyons for their generous help as friends, mentors, and benefactors. Kimberly was two years into the re-building of her new life, focusing on the future with her children. Special thanks also to Dave and Dawn Robison who helped her for so many years. To those many, many, others, who have been angels in her life…..Thank you!!

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 6, 2020 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, UT for immediate family only. A public viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.

Friday, January 8, 2021 there will be a candle light services to honor Kimberly at 8:00 pm. It will be held at the Quarry Bend Softball Complex, 9200 South 1000 East, Sandy, UT. This will be a time to share experiences, love and good thoughts of Kim.

My heart is heavy for your lose. My sister Dawn loved Kim and believed in her. I know she is heartbroken losing her. The many times I met Kim I saw the fight she was fighting. She was strong and faced so much hardship. She blessed the lives around her as she endured her own journey. She was a beautiful person inside and out. She had many demons fighting against her and I believe as far as she came it was exhausting and the hurt to deep. I lost my BF to suicide and know how painful it is for those left behind. She is in a better place and I believe she will be a heavenly angle for you and her children. May God bless you and all those that were in her life with comfort, strength and peace through this process of grieving. My thought and prayers are with you all! Love Robin

    Marilyn, Steve and family.
It breaks my heart for you all to have to experience the great pain of the loss of Kim! She has always been the light of the Nance family! Every family reunion/family event she would show up with the biggest and brightest smile (you would never know that she had many struggles in life), and made her way around to everyone to give us her awesome hugs and and ask how we are doing! And when asked, she would say she was doing "good". It is truely so unfair that she had many demons in her life that would not allow her to achieve the complete happiness that she well deserved! She was such a beautiful, strong woman and I love her and will miss her dearly! I can only find comfort that she is in a place where she has found peace and her pain is gone. I know she misses each and every family member, friend, patient, acquaintance, etc, but it was just too painful for her to fight any longer, and this is what was best for her. Most will never even begin to understand what she has gone through/felt in her short 40 years of life, but I do understand that it was "unbearable", and I commend her for her strength to fight for as long as she had!! Much love and comfort to all of you, and I pray that you will all find peace in knowing that she is no longer struggling and that you will see her again someday! Until then, I know she will be by your side and watch over you!

    Hugs and kisses,
    Tricia Rawson

So deeply saddened to hear of Kim’s passing. Although my main friendship was with Stephanie, I remember many moments with Kim in which we shared hardships, triumphs, and pregnancies with our firsts. 💗 Kim was hilarious, kind and genuine with me. My heart aches for your family. I pray for strength and love to surround you all. And I pray for Kim that she is truly in peace and love. May she shine her brilliant light. 🌟

My condolences to the family. Sadly Kim is gone from the eyes but not the minds or hearts of those who knew her, nor from God's lasting memory. John 5:28,29

I can't believe you're not with us anymore. Kim, you were always kind to everyone. Thank you for great memories. Love you girl!

    - Keila Mower

I was Kim’s neighbor. I got to know her very well and our children played together. We created memories, she came over often, and she was a great person. She took lessons with the sister missionaries a couple of months before she passed. I know she loved her parents and her children so much. I am glad I got to meet such a sweet amazing person in this lifetime.
