Kinley Rose Neufeld, our precious angel, was born into this world on February 3, 2018 to devoted parents Gaven and Lauren (Evans) Neufeld. Little Miss Kinley came into this world, amid great anticipation, trailing sunshine, glitter and rainbows which she delighted in sharing with everyone around her. Extra spunky, extra sparkly & extra spectacular! Kinley always knows exactly what she wants and never let bad days stop her.

Kinley’s favorite things include arts & crafts, playdough, kinetic sand, playing with her stuffies, play kitchen, nail polish, stickers, & big cozy blankets. You would often find Kinley cooking in the kitchen, doing cool science experiments, or watching Gabby Cats. Kinley’s favorite colors are pink and rainbow. Kinley enjoys wearing fancy dresses, and her signature style choice is a tutu under a dress that doesn’t need one. Kinley is part mermaid and loves to jump & splash in the water whenever possible. Kinley enjoys being outside and going on outings to the aquarium and zoo.

Kinley was diagnosed with stage IV high risk neuroblastoma shortly after her 3rd birthday. Kinley endured 2 years of intensive cancer treatment including 67 clinic appointments, 24 Hospital stays, 32 cycles of radiation, 13 surgeries, 9 rounds of chemotherapy, 2 bone marrow transplants, 3 rounds of immunotherapy, 2 MIBG treatments, and blood transfusions that are too numerous to count. Kinley traveled to Colorado, Pennsylvania and New York for specialized pediatric cancer consultations and treatments.

As Kinley’s life neared the end, she spent 4 months on hospice in the comfort of her home. On January 15, 2023, Kinley's pain ended and she passed away in the arms of her parents. She is survived by her loving and dedicated parents, Gaven and Lauren (Evans) Neufeld, brother Harrison, Kitty Fidget, grandparents Shawn & Christine Evans and Bradley & Charlotte Neufeld, great grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins & friends. Our hearts are forever broken but we will be reunited with Kinley in the hereafter.

The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Kinley’s medical teams at Primary Children’s Medical Center, doctors, nurses, specialists, child life, cancer researchers, Rainbow Kids, the SOAP team, Colorado Children’s Hospital, Nixon Strong Foundation, NEGU Foundation, Ironman Foundation, Angel Flights, Ronald McDonald House, Lighthouse Foundation, Wacky Warriors and all those who supported Kinley’s valiant battle against this horrific disease. Many thanks to the Make-A-Wish foundation for gifting Kinley with a fabulous pink playhouse. The family would also like to thank all family, friends & community members who supported Kinley’s Miracle go-fund-me which eased the financial burden of treatment immensely.

Kinley may be parted from us for a brief time but never far from our hearts and memories. Please wear something pink to Kinley’s celebration of life in honor of our little bug. We will hold a viewing on Friday Jan 20th from 6-8 pm. We will have a second viewing on Saturday Jan 21 at 10 am, Services will start at 11:00. Services will take place at Larkin Mortuary at the Downtown Location, 260 E South Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84111. Interment will immediately follow at Stansbury Park Cemetery. We will be sending Kinley off with rose petals as a celebration of the beauty and grace she emulated during this life.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to research focusing on a cure for Neuroblastoma. Neuroblastoma is a solid tumor cancer that arises in immature nerve cells and is primarily found in children under age 5. Nearly 70 percent of children diagnosed with Neuroblastoma have advanced-stage disease. Less than 40 percent of children with advanced disease live five years. Please donate to the Children’s Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation. (Please click on "In Lieu of Flowers" link above)

Although I never got the chance to know this beautiful soul, I do know her dad. A wonderful, kind person with a good heart. He was there for me in some of my toughest times and has been a good friend. If Kinley was anything like her dad, this world will be a little bit sadder without her in it. I am sorry i didn't get to know you Kinley, but know that your short time here changed so many people for the better. Your smile and positivity will always be remembered. May you rest in Peace and may you be remembered always.

My deepest condolences to Gaven and Lauren and Kinley's little brother. May you find peace and comfort at this time.
