During the Christmas of 1942 Maurine and Harry Nielsen of Santa Monica California received a very special gift, a baby, who they named Kristi.
Kristi went on to live a full, happy life with Michael and Karla (her devoted sister) Ney in Southern California and Lake Oswego, Oregon. On the beautiful, sunny afternoon of June 17, 2023, our sweet Kristi Lorraine Nielsen, age 80, slipped peacefully away into the arms of the Lord. Kristi was loved by all and made many dear friends throughout her life. Her favorite things were family gatherings, working in the yard, going to the car show, counting her money and eating. She was known for giving the "best hugs ever!" Kristi passed while in the loving, dedicated care of her sister, Karla.
Kristi is survived by her sister Karla Ney of Sandy, Utah and nieces Melinda Reed (Jim) of Portland, Oregon, Kristen Neilson (Larry) of St. George, Utah, Michelle Anderson (Blaine) of Holladay, Utah and Robin Call (Kevin) of Sherwood, Oregon. In addition, she is survived by many Grand and Great-Grand nieces and nephews.
